Engine Doctor
Do you mean a glow plug driver or the actual plug ?
John Lee
Chapter 14 of the classic 'Model Aero Engine Encyclopaedia' is a good starting point. There is a .pdf available at rclibrary.co.uk Link

Is it tungsten that reacts with the glow fuel fuel, a catalyst.....filament from old bulbs ??? May I ask, anyone stripped down an enya no.3 plug ?? jrman
No. The catalyst is platinum or sometimes a platinum / iridium alloy. One reason they are expensive.
