toto
Arrived today ....... another dollop of good service from Kings Lynn Models. It comes with Overlander battery ( 3s 1300 mAh) and mains charger. I bought another 2 spare batteries of the same type to give me the three to be playing with. It us a tootsie wee thing at just over 600 mm of a wingspan but that was the intention to allow flying elsewhere other than the field. I have read the destructions and the all in weight does come under the 250g mark. I will post up the data later. It has SAFE and the other self levelling correcting system ( the name escapes me for now ) but the SAFE can be turned off. It also comes with the extra under carriage to accept floats but not the floats themselves. The hatch comes off simply enough being held on with magnets and a bit of a botched foam arrangement at the top of the hatch. Seems secure enough. One thing that hit me in the face like a wet kipper is a join that runs along the mid section of the fuselage that seems to be kept together with sellotape. Hmmmm is this normal ? Anyway, I will get around to posting pictures up but I've just been out walking the dog and took a soaking so not really of the mind to hit the shed after getting dried off and changed. ..... so ....... until tomorrow. Colin Carpenter
Yes Toto , my UMX are taped along a central seam. Easy to dismantle if u need to change a Rx. Ditch the SAFE if u can. Horrible! Keep it close ! They disappear quickly! Colin

Ron Gray
I must admit that I thought it had 2s batteries.

GrumpyGnome
AS3X and SAFE. AS3X smooths out unwanted aircraft movement due to, for example, wind. Will allow you to fly in higher wind than you'd expect but as it's tiny, upwind flying will be sloooooowwwwww. Makes you look a better flier 🙂 SAFE limits the aircrafts response to intended control inputs, often 3 rates. E.g. position 1 limits the plane to 30 degrees of bank, climb/dive; position 2 limits it to 60 degrees; position 3 allows full movement. Possibly also a 'panic' switch that will put the aircraft into straight and level if you get in a pickle. Personally, I hate SAFE and would recommend ditching it as soon as you are comfortable - other people love it....

GrumpyGnome
I'm not a Spektrum expert, but think you can using a special cable and some software to set the gains to zero.
toto
So .... The UMX Turbo Timber Evolution ..... as it comes ...... out of the box. and a very shiny and beautiful box it is too. well enough held in place for transit ..... and there she is .... as you will see, as mentioned earlier ....... a big join along the side of the fuselage simply held by sellotape. Hmmmmm battery hatch held on with two magnets is easy enough to come off but still feels sturdy whilst in place. The hatch itself with the little notch to the top which slides into the cab roof the cab roof element that accepts the notched foam ..... The two magnets in the hatch .... and the matching magnets in the main fuselage either side of the motor ..... The destructions which are minimal but I think adequate to get you in the air safely.... The battery charger ( included ) which can charge 2 and 3s batteries ..... with uk mains plug. one of the batteries ( included ) is actually a 450 mAh 11.1 v 3s as opposed to the 300 mAh 11.1v 3s as described with the model. I bought an extra two batteries of the same type giving me 3 in total. Never tried this yet but I will when I find an appropriate space ................ maybe like the one pictured below which is 5 minutes from my house ...... the pictures don't give a great sense of scale ...... My missus with the mut .... possibly big enough though .... from all different directions .. . No show without punch .... thats me for now. toto well ..... ok ....... one more .... GrumpyGnome
Don' worry about the tape holding it together - they've been doing that ever since they brought out the first ones many moons ago. DO NOT GLUE IT. But hopefully you do have some suitable glue for the inevitable whoopsie. That space is plenty big enough for that plane in the right conditions, when you have a little more experience (so you avoid flyaways, dog walkers etc. - my local park stopped becoming usable at around 6:30 a.m.....) If you go to the club at the weekend, also take this, and the instructions. Typically they fly 'out of the box' but someone more experienced, who can read instructions, can help you check it out.
