Glenn Stevenson
Hi, I am putting an escale seafire together and have some plastic parts need gluing onto the wings, ie wheel wells etc, What glue works best to stick plastic to oracover? Thanks Glenn
Paul De Tourtoulon
I don't 'do' electrics, but on IC nothing will keep them there other than fixing / bolting them to the legs.

Eric Robson
Glenn, I would cut back the oracover and use Uhu Por to stick the wheel wells to the bare balsa. I assume it's balsa being covered with film. Edited December 19, 2024 by Eric Robson
Ernie
Its not a good idea to stick anything to oracover or any other covering film; because the strength of the joint is only as good as the strength of the oracover glueing it to whatever is underneath. And that's not very much. Strip the covering off where the glue is going to go, and stick directly to the structure.............................. Use 30min epoxy ernie

Eric Robson
A new club member brought a balsa built motor glider to the field, as he was preparing for flight the rudder horn came off. He asked if I had any superglue, when I looked he had stuck the horn straight onto the film covering, no screws in it, he didn't fly that day  1

Glenn Stevenson
Thanks for the tips, looks like epoxy might be best then. Glenn
Engine Doctor
Cut back Oracover and glue to balsa, AÂ flexible glue will be best IMO and allow slight movement . A rigid glue like epoxy is likely to cause ABS to crack .

Or any contact adhesive but you have to get it right first time.
