Kevin Fairgrieve
I am keen to see this one built. I nearly bought the pack at the Nationals, but did not. I am kicking myself now as it was £20.00 cheaper there. Good luck with the builds.

Doug Ireland
All th bits arrived yesterday (huge cowl and spats) but it will be some time before I start building as I'm still building the TN Hurricane.
Peter 'Ivanna Crashalot' Savage
My Dad is thinking of getting the hurricane some time, he saw the quality of my kit and he wanted one! Maybe he could get it cheap at a model show!
Terry Whiting
Jim & Peter, and others, Have found a little 'goof' in the wing build, nothing drastic. You will need 2.5mm packers under the lower main spar when pinning the over the plan, not to do so the ribs will not seat.
Peter 'Ivanna Crashalot' Savage
Do you not have to put the lower sheeting down before?
Brian Walford
Hi All Another boo boo if you pack the wing for wash out as indiccted you wont get wash out you'll get wash in(a recipe fort tip stalling!!) the packing under w9 should be less than under w20!! Regards Brian
Peter 'Ivanna Crashalot' Savage
Lol, i'll try to remember that!
Doug Ireland
For those that want one (me for one) a dummy radial can be found here Radial
Terry Whiting
Peter, Yes you are thinking logically, but some will be guided by the book, and that states the sheeting is fitted later in the wing build. Brian. The washout is not a mistake. Carefully make a washout taper 3mm to zero 73cm long. Measurer the distance at W20 from the mainspar to the 3mm point . Now measure the same distance out from the mainspar at W1. Place your taper to those measurments, and you will find W9 sits on the taper at approximately 1.5mm, but at the TE it will be 8mm. This is due to rib size and section used. My wo taper will only be 36cm in length, but still 3mm to zero, as the wo will be in the outer wing panel only , this gives a fraction more wo where needed. Terry Whiting
Doug, Good timing finding that Radial. Slough Models is only 45minutes away for me, I can get that and all other hardware needed in one hit. Bet you can't guess where I will be this afternoon....... cheers Edited By Terry Whiting on 17/10/2009 11:00:
Doug Ireland
Terry, Could you ask them how many they have in stock as I reckon they may have a rush on them soon!
Terry Whiting
Doug, Don't bother , they were 1/7 scale, far too big for this Lizy
Terry Whiting
Doug, Continuing from where I left off, I realised T.N used 1/7 scale, but from what is visible in the mag photos of the engine, and the one I saw at Slough Models were dissimilar, as the ABS engine crankcase would have virtually filled the cowl . If you still want that one, you had better phone first as they only had a couple left.
Doug Ireland
Hi Terry, I got the radial in the post this morning (a small miracle) and it does look a bit big!. I'm considering not using the vac-formed cowl and make one out of balsa instead, should be simple enough.
Doug Ireland
Just finished messing about with the radial/cowl, doesn't look too bad!
Terry Whiting
Doug, That looks quite reasonable, will you open up between the cylinders, or will that weaken the plastic it too much.
Doug Ireland
Hi Terry, the instructions that come with it say to make a 1/8" Lite-ply disk of the same size to glue it to, removing one or more cylinders to clear the real engine. The dummy push-rod tubes and ignition leads have still to be fitted then the whole thing needs to be painted. It hasn't been fixed into position yet as I'm still thinking about the engine mounting.
