Yes it does, so long as the blades are also near identical. ED is describing a different situation.

I nearly always adjust it over a few trial flights to suit my preference for the particular type of model. BTW, shouldn't we be referring to the lengthwise balance position not the CoG ?

I fitted the same module to my earliest version Taranis about 2 or 3 years ago. After flashing the then latest firmware I got mode options: OFF, PPM, XJT, DSM2 , MULTI, R9M, and SBUS. Note no ACCESS which I don't think was operational at the time. The one you're missing, "MULTI", I'm pretty sure was pointed to via the github link in the instructions. I haven't got time to look at it right now but will have a look later this pm.

Sounds a good idea if you want to get as many people as possible anti Safety Officer. 😠

@Shaun WalshIn the link to the Phoenix (V742-6) @mightypeeshgave the motor size is given as 2812 but no KV is quoted. Are you quoting from an early version Phoenix ? I have a V742-1 which was supplied with a 2212 1400kv motor same as the Ranger in MP's earlier link. PS I agree with you that an 8x6 should be about right if the motor is around 1400kv 👍

Does anyone know what the motor Kv is ? It would be easiest to fit a smaller prop & run it within the 20A limit of the ESC.

What is printed on the label attached to the ESC ?

I agree that it's undesirable for the LE to lift from it's seat under flying but I doubt whether stretching from the front or rear makes any difference. OTOH the distance from dowel to LE has a significant effect on the tension which can cause the LE to lift especially through loops & other strong positive G manoeuvres. IMO this is why KK Junior 60s & Super 60s have a mis-identified reputation for weak wing spar construction when in fact the models were designed originally for free flight & S/C rudder/motor control only. Instead of beefing up the wing spar they really need the dowels re-positioned (& a small redesign to the cabin front) or, better still, peg & screw wing retention. The Falcon also looks as if it would benefit from the same treatment.

That's not the question he asked.

Anything wrong with the replacement version suggested in the link in your post ? -
There is nothing lost in trying. If the grubb screws can be moved but the shaft won't budge when using a press of some sort then I would not resort to using a hammer as the shock could loosen one or more of the magnets. At that point I'd get an adapter, though I've never had to so far.
-
I've used a vertical drill as a press on motor shafts. The shaft in Toto' motor has a flat cut out on the protruding end that will line up with the grub screw in the spacer at that end of the shaft. There will be a similarly spaced flat at the other end of the shaft that will line up with the grub screw at that end. i.e. there will be 4 cut out flats on the shaft to allow the shaft to be reversed by pushing it to it's new position then secured by the grub screws without needing to completely remove the shaft & turn it around.

We used to have access to a small lake about 10 miles from my club but after we'd had a few 'splash ins' it became unavailable. Also took part in some events at Kielder reservior many years ago - great fun at both venues. 😊 PS forgot to mention - once went on an island hopping (local taxi service) DH Beaver flight from Coal Harbour, Vancouver. About an hour or so round trip. An interesting experience, also spent found it fascinating watching the various other waterplane activities in what was a fairly busy harbour.

The wrong kind of bigger thrill if you're model is a gllider & the water is part of the North Sea !! 😳

This short BBC video is well worth watching, especially so today. It's one of a series of shorts currently on BBC News site from all of the services of WW2 veterans telling their own individual story. Plus this one of John Hemingway, the last known surviving BoB pilot.

Soldering brass tube to piano wire - expert opinion sought
PatMc replied to Nigel R's topic in Build Blogs and Kit Reviews
Nigel, hopefully a picture is as good as 1000 words. Here's 2k worth. They are leftovers extras from years ago, I think the balls are actually "soft" soldered to the torque rods. -

I'd use silver solder & possibly the ball of a bal link instead of brass tube. -
The most important readings will be the current at full throttle. This must be under the max current for both the motor & the ESC.

Gifted Glider, but what is it please?
PatMc replied to 911hillclimber's topic in Gliders and Gliding - General Discussion
A 12 x 6 folder should be good but check that the current draw is under the max for your ESC/motor combo. I always go for full on/off with near vertical climb dead upwind for about 30 secs of power then hunt the thermal. Any aerobatics are power off & always try for a near pre-marked spot landing - it's good practice & adds something to achieve to each flight. -
Cloud Clipper tail feathers question

Rounded or squared whichever looks best to you. There's no aerodynamic benefit either way. -
So far only HoLEP has been mentioned by the urologist but as far as I can see it's no more invasive than Urolift. My bedtime activities are limited to walking to the loo several times each night poking Mr Dribles in the eye with a plastic tube waiting 'till the tears stop then making the return journey back to bed. 😒 Good luck with whichever procedure you choose 👍
