  1. We seem to have a bad run. Been to 6 funerals of members in the past two years Predominantly older members club. covid hadn't helped, we offer training, i/C , electric and thermal. Just a bad time.Don't seem able to encourage/ keep young members.
  2. Is it just us, or are other members finding it hard to keep members. ? It seems after the uncertainty of the last two years, we are struggling to keep members of our model club. Whether its infirmity or apathy, our membership looks certain to drop about 15% of its membership. No amount of talking, cajoling or any other means will help. Disappointing to say the least. Dropped our membership fee to practically nothing as well. Here's hoping (doubtful) for better times.
  3. Watched the AGM, it is still cheaper than beer, football etc E

  12. Not at I had TWO fail on me; bought from SMC, lasted a month each. both came with the European two pin plug with an adaptor.I was informed that the Euro version was designed to work at a lower voltage. I bought a new one with a British three pin plug from Balsa cabin at cosford. So far, so good. Fingers crossed, knock on balsa. Maury
  13. Originally kitted by Svenson; got the plan and this my next build. but with an O.S 52 surpass smoke and noise maker four stroke. Lovely looking old time flying machine,,,,,,,
  14. Being an old time modeller and still building, can anyone direct to me where I can find HEAVYWEIGHT tissue.? Our good friends at Balsa Cabin, SLEC etc etc keep lightweight stuff, but not good old, balsa covered, doped on HEAVYWEIGHT tissue. ANYONE ?? Maury
  15. We had our monthly meeting ( too late to cancel it) a hour after the announcement of her death. Members stood and observed one minute silence: a small thing, but an honour to mark her passing.
  16. Thanks. Luton must need a bigger house for His trophies X. Maybe one day a Brit will reign supreme again.😇
  17. Cannot for the life of me find any results/ news on who won ?? Lots of YouTube vids, but no results. Anybody know different ? Maury
  18. I always fit an O.S. F four stroke plug in inverted two strokes. Expensive (what isn't) but works very well on inverts.
  19. You guys are lucky. My members wait until the perfect weather (which never comes), and then decide it's too hot\cold\cantbe bothered.
  20. I've taught many new members to fly who turn up with fancy gyros and stabilisers: mostly with talking singing trannies. 'And the first thing we will do is to turn that lot off'. Like trying to fly a giant marshmallow with disconnected rubber arms.
