  1. A bit off track, but "Swings and roundabouts" you can ride to the Butchers, or eat the Horse,,,
  2. You can also have this problem with Chinese uni/futaba mixing plugs and sockets
  3. Welcome to the forum, sounds like you started like me, but born in 1951, also a Micro mould lark ( 1984 and no gyro ) and a Futaba 'M' in 1976.
  4. I have seen this problem a couple of times, as above a weak signal from the rx, both times' arf's with installed servos from the Chinese, all on spectrum radios, they worked with a servo tester as they did with my Futaba receivers.
  5. Or married to a shoe collector, do you want a shoe count from me or my sister-in-law ?.🤪
  6. What was your wives last shoe count, Nigel ?.🤐
  7. Why not, in the 60's Wiggins the builders 'persuaded' wood screws to hang doors in new houses with a hammer.😄
  8. I haven't used it, but I have seen one other club member with it, although it doesn't smell like petrol, it is probably just as toxic, it is no good to me as the mix is between 2% and 2.5% of oil, I use 3% in my 2 strokes and 5% in my Saito 4 strokes and using around 20 litres of the stuff it would be a bit expensive.
  9. No petrol powered engines consume a lot less, at a guess 1/3 of a methanol engine.
  10. There is no way out, when the Chinese can send me 3mm and 4mm die sets from the other side of the world for 6€ post included and any French mail order shop charges me a minimum of 7.50€ for an envelope what do you expect, not forgetting what the Chinese wage is and pension,,,
  11. If I understand Jon, you need to build a wooden plane, put a Laser engine in it and feed it with castor free fuel.😅
  12. I bought these, Joint Torique OR-7X2-FPM70 Générique, Diamètre intérieur 7 mm, Diamètre extérieur 11 mm, Epaisseur 2 mm, matière FPM ID 7 x OD 11 2mm thick.
  13. It's the badge that you are paying for, not the quality of the car it's all the Vw group, and don't think for a moment that you are in a Bugatti !. My Jag has a ford key and switches,,,
  14. It's only advancing the flying world, from cavemen throwing stones, spears, free flight, balsa Artf, now 3D, a club member is well into it, and it'e amazing what he can do, although he is a professional architect and has all the tools to design and the spare time.
  15. Interesting, I have learnt something today, Humbrol wash.
  16. Yes, as John says, the prop doesn't know who is turning it.
  17. OMG what on earth happened to you Ron? Having been burnt a few times, I know that it is really painful, look after yourself.
  18. Getting there, a bit of silicone tubing on the plastic rudder quick link wouldn't go amiss.
  19. Oh come on ! don"t gasp as if you are amazed, Internet and the Chinese flogging the cheap stuff that you/we buy slaughtered the model shops, it was only a matter of time, the drone market and its laws didn't help, and to end it all the young of today don't dream of flying, just the newest smartphone and it's games, twitter etc,,,
  20. I cross mine, why not a carbon tube instead.
  21. Throw away the grub screws that come with the fittings and buy proper ones at least 1cm long, that will make sure that you can tighten them properly, as for the command wires, it's soft rubbish in the artf kits, so the grub screw will make its mark and won’t move, mine don't move .
  22. That is what I suggested, I called them blind nuts, so maybe my English is really getting rusty.
  23. I did my Tiger moth this way, just slot it in and a plastic screw in each wing.
