Peter Miller
Well, they say that there is one born every minute. He must be hoping to find them all!!! I must go out to my old shed and make a fortune too.
Tony Bennett
try looking up news of the world last edition.some one had one listed for £10,000,
i12fly
Talking of re-cycled E-boat and aeroplanes.. ...er I've got an old rather decrepit upper turret believed from a mk4 Blenheim (as identified by Shuttleworth) used as a cold frame. I inherited it from wifey's uncle with the words " 'ere you're interested in planes, 'ave this. It fell off a plane during the war". I suspect it has more to do with falling off the back of a lorry, as there was a stores depot a couple of miles away.
Steve W-O
The item I often wonder about, comes up quite often, is the Radio Controlled Flying Box. Never been able to work out how many channels they have, or what size engine they need.
001
Tony, I have just looked up 'News of the World' on eBay. The last edition. There are dozens and dozens of them. One ad even says 'rare' This is the expensive one. News of the World. ! Expensive fish & chip wrappers! Probably the best buy would be the printing plate for the last edition at £1800Edited By Richard Bond on 13/07/2011 07:18:
Peter Miller
I heard on Saturday that News of the Screws (The name given by jounalists to the paper and mentioned on BBC Radio 4 so it is perfectly acceptable) was on EBay before it had even been published. Peter Miller
On the other hand one can get a real bargain. How about this for £14.51. Almost a freebie It is mint and immaculate. Only slight snag. it does smell a bit musty but I am sure that a bit of airing will solve that

Peter Miller
And yet more rubbish. Even the engine is so corroded that it is worthless. Firewood and powdered aluminium

John Privett
Oh dear.... I'm worried now that the neighbours will be round to see what's going on, as I laughed so loud! I do like this line in the description; this plane did have wings but unfortunatelly it got broken and put it in the bin I'm sure most of us would have left it there! Or maybe the binmen rejected it! Peter Miller
Notice also that it is a control line model, not R/C. Looks like a converted Veron Sopwith 1 1/2 Strutter
Peter Miller
That awful control line biplane sold for about £15 becasue of the Frog 500. I doubt if it could be got running again. THis chap is relisting this heap of scrap again. He just doesn't know when to give up For the third time
Martin Harris - Moderator
But have you noticed that it sold last time and got positive feedback: Item arrived quickly, and as described, a good person to deal with. Member ID redlawcars ( Feedback score of 649) 23-Jul-11 14:39 vintage cable controlled aeroplane 3.5cc diesel engine (#130544006895)£9.99 However, although the photo still shows an engine, this time the description says it WAS fitted with a 3.5 cc diesel so perhaps the buyer only wanted the engine. Might lead to some interesting correspondence if someone buys it expecting the photo to be accurate! Incidentally, the same buyer recently sold a Frog 500 for £32 odd....
