Richard Harris
Posted by Chris Bott - Moderator on 07/06/2012 21:48:13: Gents I'm afraid I have to report that I've asked and that the event is fixed wing only. So no helicopters please. Regards Chris Chris, You know what I am going to ask, what about unpowered rotors? I am still working on the boss to see if I can create enough brownie points Rich
Chris Bott - Moderator
Hi Rich I'm told Gyros will be fine but may be given their own slots. Hope you can come. Cheers Chris
David Gilder
They were allowed last year Rich, So I cant see why they would not allow them this year!! I think they dont allow Helis due to the extremely high head speeds and inherant difficulty to control!!
Richard Harris
Chris, Thanks for the reply For me I can fly along side the fixed wing boys but I do appreciate that they may seem intimidating to others who are in the air at the same time. In theory they are in fact fixed wings. If I am able to come and the weather plays ball I will bring a selection of my new autogyros and a few of my vintage. It is highly unlikely I will get my Jupiter completed in time but I will try, I get side tracked sometimes. If I manage to make it see you all there, if I don't have a great time! Just finished preparing this one:

Ian Jones
Thanks Tim, it's a nice flier , requires rudder/aileron co-ordinated turns. I've lots of happy hours out of it. I hope we get to meet up... weather is looking pretty dodgy.
Tim Hooper
I'll bring the usual collection of home-brewed nonsense just in the case the weather sees sense and improves. If not, then there's always the Simprop Rabbit.... tim

Martyn K
Curare 25 Delta-A AlmostaTucanoish Possibly the Astro-Hog if I can find space Plus Ian and his models Martyn
Ian Jones
Depends on: Weather forecast How much space Martyn has available. I would like to bring bring my SE5a, Flying Aces Sportster and the Tucano. The first two will fly in the wind (not much for the sportster) but they are much nicer in calmer weather. I had hoped to bring a big PC9 but it won't be ready so I'll have to have a look around the hangar for something else more suitable for more windy conditions. Martyn K
Very timely - we'll get them in... I may bring the Pup as well if it looks calm.. This will be just like how many elephants can you fit in a mini.. Martyn
Danny Fenton
Mmm I think I will bring the Micro Mustang, the Mamselle with the mighty P.A.W, a Flair Triplane if its calm, a Sea Fury and a 1/5 Chippy, if that lot goes in the car that is Roll on the weekend Cheers Danny
Martyn K
Oi Danny You forgot the Hurricane in that list... Martyn
Danny Fenton
lol oh yes better try and throw that in the car too. might need to hijack somebody's caravan to bring em all over Cheers Danny
Bob Cotsford
If the wind moderates them I'll sling the Eros in, if not the Skybolt, that'll cope with anything short of a full on gale. Altair or an ARTF Texan or the Blue Angel, whatever else wil fit, though the Dragon Lady is overdue for an outing.
