bert baker
Depends on quantity, I still also cut ribs by various Old school Methods, Doing the CAD is a slow process for me The machines Can reduce the need for semi decent hand skills, so a real bonus for me

bert baker
The elevator suffered from a poor Snake installation, I’m going to make this one push rod 6mm carbon tube and 3mm treaded rod once made I shall fit the lock nut and some heat shrink over the rod
cymaz
And replace the rudder horn backplate ??
Engine Doctor
Bert check those elevator horns as well. I had some of the same design horns that had gone brittle. Plastic snapped like eggshell and the bolt thats molded in came loose then fell out , luckily noticed on pre flight checks !

bert baker
I’ve had a look at the elevator horn and came up with this I was planning to have something bolted all the way through But think this will be ok with the correct glue an some side pinning What do you chaps think
bert baker
Having removed the rudder horn or what ever it’s called, reviled that it was in good order and not been hacked about, apart from one niggle, the nuts were the wrong size for the thread goin a closed loop anyway so it will be replaced
cymaz
Change it with a new one and bolt the elevator right through....it may only be glued onto the covering? Shame to lose a plane over 3x 2mm bolts Edited January 7, 2023 by cymaz

Mark Perry 1
Bit late to this thread ( !!! ), and apologies if I’m posting in the wrong place - but I’ve got one for sale. All the work done to a high standard with an ASP 120 fitted. Just needs wheels and aileron joiner wires. Doesn’t look like it’s ever been flown. I’m based in Plymouth. Drill small holes through the base for epoxy to grip. Never had one come out . Tried a test piece once and tried to get the horn out of 1/4 sheet was impossible without completely breaking up the wood . They look neater as well.
