Diamond Geezer
how do you work out cc,for example a 46 is how many?or a91
PatMc
1 cu in = 16.387 cc so a 46 (actually 0.46 cu in) = 0.46 x 16.387 = 7.538 cc & 0.91 cu in = 14.912 cc
Masher
Hi DG See here: http://www.metric-conversions.org/volume/cubic-inches-to-cubic-centimeters.htm 1 cubic centimetre = 0.0610237441 cubic inches and a 46 is 0.46 cubic inches which works out at about 7.5cc
Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
Well you can do all that if you want. Or you can just remember one thing; that a 60 is 10cc (more or less). So everything can be scaled off that. For example a 40 is 2/3 of sixty so its 2/3 of 10 = 6.67cc A 90 is 11/2 sixties so its one and half lots of ten so that's:15cc. and so on. Steve Hargreaves - Moderator
Glow engines were mainly developed in the US where they use cubic inches instead of cubic centimeters to measure capacity......a "forty six" actually refers to an engine of 0.46 cubic inches & this converts to cc as the guys have explained above.... Phil Green
Use Google itself, simply type the conversion into the search box. There are very few conversions it cant do directly. Just enter something like: 0.61 cu inches in cc 3 fortnights in days 1 lb per sq inch in grammes per square cm 750 watts in hp etc Try it, it works! Cheers Phil
Wingman
OR just use '6' as the factor i.e. a 1.20 engine is 20 cc a '91' is 15cc near as dammit and vice-versa of course! Edited By Wingman on 19/02/2013 17:50:

PC.Vere
Do it the simple way - you don't need a calculator or even Google!! - just use mental arithmetic and divide by 6 - eg a 46,(.46cu inch) divided by 6 = 7.6 - (7.6 cc) Or if changing from cc to cu inch size - eg 10cc x 6 = 60 ( .6 cu inch ). This will only be 99.5 % accurate of course but it is fine for 99.5 % of people. Sorry someone else said something similar a few posts earlier! Myron Beaumont
Actually ,it's 99.7% accurate .Tell me I'm wrong 'cos that was a mental arithmetic calculation !
