So, we get to repeat Silverstone all over again next weekend for the 70th Anniversary GP. And apprently with softer tyres than this weekend...

Another weekend, another race, but the same circuit...

This weekend it's the 70th Anniversary GP, still at Silverstone, in hotter conditions but with softer tyres than last weekend. With the role the tyres played last weekend that could get rather interesting!

But first, the customary reminder;

Don't forget your predictions!

Mercedes have headed P1 and P2, with varying results from the likes of Red Bull, Racing Point and Renault. Tomorrow and Sunday are looking slightly cooler than today. Times are the same as last weekend - 2pm on Saturday for qualifying with the race at 2:10 on Sunday (UK times.)

So will the judgement against Racing Point, with points deducted from the team, affect the standings in the fantasy F1 league? I ask that somewhat nervously, as I’ve benefited from their strong results to date, so would be slipping down the table a little if the answer is yes.

Thanks once more for your reminder, John.

@ Charles > It's apparently only concerning the Manufacturer's Classification, not the drivers themselves.

Now if you have RP as a team of yours, then they would 'retrograde' somehow... (I think even on Fantasy)...

I'm in the same situation, you know... fingers crossed, here...

Cheers

Chris

While doing my predictions tonight I had a look round the site and see that I am classified as a rookie. Presumeably due to my dire record. Something else to try and improve on!!! Have we got any high classifications members not just higher than me?

John

Seems we are all classed as rookies if we don't spend any money with them. You're in good company!teeth 2

All done ta.

How can you penalise a team over the car, then allow it to race ?

My car and driver so I'm making my way down some more. face 1

My understanding is that Fantasy Grand Prix will be mirroring the 15pts deduction for the cars - so the drivers remain unaffected.

If you had Racing Point as a car in your team for the Styrian GP then your overall points total for that race will be minus 15pts once the results and rankings for this weekend are calculated...

I'm in a very similar case, John.

Cheers & stay cool, gents

Chris

OK, the channel 4 coverage must have finished by now, so here is how we all scored today;

Pos Team Manager Pts
1 Roos Racers rk295 158
2 Team Charles Picd Charles Pic 132
3 Crashtestdummies Brake Test 123
4 PSS Power Flyer 118
5 Iqonic racing iqon 117
6 Torque of the devil Stu 117
7 Pitts Specials john stones 114
8 Norfolk Flyers Kevin Fairgrieve 107
9 AeroArrows Bondaero 107
10 Revers Racing Pete B 102
11 teewrex John Tee 95
12 GASTON Formula Chris McG 92
13 The improved Webby Racing team Simon Webb 92
14 Essex Racing Tony Clark 88
15 2020 Vision johnpflyrc 82
16 Flying Eagles Gary Goodfellow 59

Top place today goes to Robin with 158 points. Second with 132 is Charles and third today is Don with 123 points.

Well done to the top three!

Several of us managed to 'achieve' sub-100 scores... embarrassed I can forsee a few place changes in the overall table. That's coming up next!

The overall table after today's race now looks like this;

Pos

Gain/

Loss

Team Manager Pts
1 +2 Team Charles Picd Charles Pic 696
2 -1 Revers Racing Pete B 687
3 +1 Crashtestdummies Brake Test 672
4 +2 PSS Power Flyer 658
5 - Torque of the devil Stu 657
6 -4 2020 Vision johnpflyrc 649
7 +4 Roos Racers rk295 634
8 -1 Essex Racing Tony Clark 624
9 -1 GASTON Formula Chris McG 605
10 -1 Pitts Specials john stones 598
11 -1 Iqonic racing iqon 596
12 +1 Norfolk Flyers Kevin Fairgrieve 535
13 -1 Flying Eagles Gary Goodfellow 505
14 - teewrex John Tee 478
15 - AeroArrows Bondaero 428
16 - The improved Webby Racing team Simon Webb 372

So there's a change at the top - well several... Charles moves up 2 places to take over the lead from Pete. Don moves up 1 place, and Flyer moves up 2 places - they take 3rd andd 4th places respectively.

Stu remains in 5th, whilst I plummet past him, dropping 4 places to 6th. Also moving 4 places, but in the opposite direction, is Robin, whose win today takes him up to 7th. This means 1 places drops for Tony, Chris, John S and Iqon, they now occupy 8th to 11th places.

Kev and Gary trade places, with Kev now up to 12th and Gary slipping to 13th. The next 3 remain unchanged.

Next weekend is Barcelona - and probably similarly hot conditions to those faced today.

Goodness! I don’t think I’ve ever led this league and it’s unexpected, as I messed up most of the predictions, so wasn’t expecting a special score.

Those with sub-100s - maybe time to ditch Vettel from your team* winkcheeky

*Actually, isn’t it time for Ferrari to do the same and to put super sub Hulkenberg in that car for the rest of this season??

Right then! It's Friday evening again already, and another GP weekend - this time it's the Aramco Gran Premio De España 2020 - or to most of us, the Spanish Grand Prix . As usual, the customary reminder...

Don't forget your predictions!

The results of P1 and P2 show Mercedes leading the way. But is the race result really as predictable as those practice times suggest?

The usual European times of qualifying at 2pm and race at 2.10pm (both UK time) apply this weekend, and final practice is from 11 until noon for those hesitating over their predictions.
