McG 6969
Apologies, John. But I was teasing you with the time table as I have to 'translate' it anyhow to EST... Sjeesh... your French is (nearly) perfect, you know. To be totally correct, you should have used the 'conditional' tense of 'valoir' - as in English you used 'would' - so, 'vaudrait' would be perfect. This short French tutorial is on me, of course... no charges whatsoever... Quali predictions went great as usual > Belgium = 0 points. Cheers, young man Chris
John Privett
Hey Chris - no apologies required! All in good spirit, and I did rather mess-up the first of my first two posts by confusing myself over the times! And yes, I knew the first part of my french sentence wasn't quite right... Conditional tense, yes, obvious now, it's not as if it's something I didn't already know and I should have got it right. It's good to be always learning - or being reminded of things you'd already learnt, but half-forgotten! If it's any consolation my score so far on the predictions is a bid fat zero... Now, don't forget what time the race is tomorrow! 14:10 EST, 13:10 BST.

John Privett
A new venue this weekend and a disrupted second practice session has led to Hamilton only being 8th fastest in that session, after finishing 2nd to Bottas who led P1 too. Does this point to another win on Sunday for Bottas, or not? Whatever the case, the usual reminder applies; Don't forget your predictions! Qualifying on Saturday is at 14:00 UK-time (BST) with the race at 13:10 UK-time on Sunday (GMT/UTC - so don't forget to put your clocks back on Saturday night!) Chris, Pete and any others on the other side of La Manche can add an hour as usual. Unless they're in Portugal, which shares our timezone. There's a flurry of place changes in the next part of the table. John S and Tony each move up 2 places to 4th and 5th respectively. This means that Flyer drops one place to 6th and Don slips 3 places to 7th. Gary jumps 2 places to 8th with Stu dropping 2 places to 10th leaving Robin unchanged in 9th. Pete B
Phew, today's result has once again got me out of the DRS zone - unlike the Eifel glitch result Chris was getting a bit too close for comfort..... Great to see some of the older, more traditional tracks being used. I know Portimao is only 12 years old but I love the up-and-downs and gravel traps Really don't enjoy the sterile, neatly-swept modern travesties of race-tracks introduced in the past few years. Let's hope they can find room on the calendar for the classic tracks in the future Pete

McG 6969
I'll try not to interfere into your 'comfort zone' anymore, Pete. Unfortunately, I can't give you any guaranties on that... As you know, Gaston is taking all the decisions for Fantasy GP, but this time the Great Flyer managed to place two of my drivers at the bottom places of the final result chart. Of course, I can't promise you that it will happen each time... I can only agree regarding the choice of tracks - Portimao is a really great rollercoaster one - but I'm afraid that your "room on the calendar" just gets replaced by 'money in the pocket' by the deciders... Cheers & stay careful Chris
John Privett
Evening all! Well, we're in the strange position of having a race in two days' time, qualifying in a little under 15 hours from now, but no practice sessions yet! I don't recall seeing any explanation of why it's being done that way this weekend, perhaps I didn't get the memo! But I'll still remind you all anyway; Don't forget your predictions! Practice session 1, the only practice session, is from 09:00 to 10:30 UK-time. So update your predictions after that if you want/need to, but make sure they're done before qualifying starts at 13:00 on Saturday. The race is at the earlier than usual time of 12:10 on Sunday. And get used to some odd times for forthcoming races - the Turkish GP in a fortnight starts at 10:10...

John Privett
Just under 2 hours now to get your predictions done if you haven't already done so. Or to refine them if you have! Hamilton was fastest in the only practice session, just under 0.3 seconds faster than Verstappen, with Bottas nearly half a second behind. McG 6969
Thanks for your 'superior' dedication, John. Regarding the 'two-day' race, it was announced/confirmed early august, but I guess it is a test-case for the evaluation of that possible new format... Note that Imola is one of the few international tracks racing in an anti-clockwise direction. That together with the lack of useful data/experience (with the last F1 race back in 2006), could give us a quite surprising race regarding tyres strategy...
