Phil May
Morning all. Absolutely nothing to do with model flying but can anyone help. Last year I put 4 ton of chippings in my garden to cover a 'messy corner' I put down the weed suppressant membrane and the chippings are 6" deep, I had no weeds at all coming through. But me being a muppet over the winter decided to feed the wild birds with a wild bird feed mix which a fair bit of it ended up on the chippings and now, yep you guessed, I have grass growing from the dropped seeds. It is defiantly only growing from the seeds and not coming up from below, any ideas how to kill off this unwanted grass. Many thanks Phil

Jez Harris 1
Any systemic weedkiller will do the job. - A weed is just any type of plant in the wrong place. Jez
trebor
My other half did the same thing over gravel I don't volunteer to remove weeds that's her job.
cymaz
Any weed killer containing Glyphosate Kills nearly everything down to the roots. Beware if you spray the area get some on the boots and the walk across the lawn....your misses will kill you as well when she sees the dead grass in the shape of feet! The weed killer doesn't need to be the expensive branded product either

Dave Hopkin
Just rebrand the corner as a eco friendly wilderness corner for the benefit of wild birds and other wee beasties and get back to aeromodelling

Mowerman
Have you thought that some bird food packs contain different types of 'grass' seed.
G-JIMG
Buy 'nuked' Bird Seed, it doesn't grow when they spread it everywhere.
