Paul Jefferies
URGENT NOTICE : SCALE WEEKEND PREVENT CANCELLATION BY BOOKING AHEAD, ONLINE, BY THURSDAY. www.shuttleworth.org/events/modelair-scale-model SHUTTLEWORTH NEED TO SEE A SIGNIFICANT INCREASE IN PRE-BOOKINGS BY THURSDAY. THIS IS CRITICAL. If online bookings are not forthcoming, Shuttleworth will have no option but to cancel, to avoid the risk of not being covid-secure. Shuttleworth has a legal obligation to collect NHS Test and Trace details, and this is managed by capturing the required details online during the pre-booking process. Please share this with your modelling colleagues as a matter of urgency. Thank you LET'S WORK TOGETHER TO SAVE SCALE WEEKEND

kc
Does this mean we cannot just turn up on the day if we decide to go at the last minute? Or will it be possible to just register before leaving home on Saturday / Sunday? Edited By kc on 16/09/2020 09:23:
paul d
KC, with all due respect it's quite clear, the advance bookings must significantly improve before Thursday otherwise it's going to get cancelled. I recently attended a full size airshow at old warden and it was advance tickets only, in hindsight that's what modelair should have done.... Paul Marsh
I doubt it will go ahead, .most people who would go are over age, in the risk category and most don't use a computer or phone...
Scott Edwards 2
I believe the need for online booking is for their 'Track and Trace' procedures. They are worried about long queues whilst collecting everybody's name, address, email etc. Book online and you can go straight in - after having your temperature checked of course ! Nigel Dell
Shuttleworth have done a lot of work in making these gatherings work in these trying times, we have attended two full-size displays there and the whole thing works well, these are not times you can just turn up I am afraid, use the procedures they have put in place, they work well. Sadly I am unable to make this weekend.
kc
Nobody has commented since 11 am so it's better to give this a chance to be seen by more people........

Jonathan M
Good news! I was never going to be able to make it (despite being an avid free-flighter) due to other engagements, but I'm really pleased its going ahead.

Robert Welford
How busy was OW today (Saturday)?
martin collins 1
About the same as normal but spread into groups as the ff, rc and bring and buy areas are all moved apart to keep contact to a minimum. Not much flying going on as v windy...........
Tim Hooper
The wind was pretty strong, and the numbers of people seemed to be lower than was the usual, BUT it was great to be back at OW! The radio line was occupied all day, the CL boys kept the noise going, and the free flighters were very brave! It was good to browse among the traders and buy some odds and sods, and meet people for a chat. It was worth the 200 mile round trip! Robert Welford
Wind was less strong today (Sunday) and was straight down the runway. Lots of R/C flying today - some nice models.
