Matt Carlton
Whilst building "Amelia" I noticed the scrap box was filling up nicely. Roll the clock back to 1990 and another on the wish list. I was going to power this with an OS .10fp but I think I might change that to an electric conversion. Shouldn't need much more than 175W or so. Overlander's Tornado Thumper 2830/09 1300kv on a 3S 1800 pack looks ok. Anyway, just thought I'd share progress so far. Looking forward to this one. It's very cute and handy. Thanks for all these pseudo scale designs Peter, and for the 'stories' that go with them.
Piers Bowlan
LS Special is on Outerzone incase anyone wondered. Nice
Peter Miller
AH! The Laughing Samurai Special. Someone mentioned it a little while ago and as my Waitrose had some Japanese whisky in stock I tried it.... Very nice indeed but a bit more expensive than the other brands that I like. Nick Cripps
I didn't remember the LS Special so looked up the plan on Outerzone - worth a read for the entertainment value. Well done, Peter!
Nigel R
More unreality from Pete: Tequila Sunrise (my favourite) and TRI-6-AL Pursuit Edited By Nigel R on 08/01/2021 11:09:
Peter Miller
I had an awful lot of fun writing those stories! One of the best laughs came later. Someone bought a Trivial Pursuit from a model shop and entered it in a club scale competition! They won the competition!!
kc
I think the name of that model is written TR1 V1 AL Pursuit. Edited By kc on 08/01/2021 11:42:
Matt Carlton
They're brilliant Peter. There should be a competition at the Nats for phoney scale. Judging based on the story and such. One can get quite carried away. I was sketching a logo for Laughing Samurai Whisky last night. It'll end up on the fin I think once it's a bit tidied up. Along with a 1930's vintage Toyota badge on the cowl. Edited By Matt Carlton on 08/01/2021 11:43:
Peter Miller
I like it!! It is actually TRI (Timber Reclamation Inc.) VI (6 in Roman numerals) AL (Altitude) Pursuit. Edited By Peter Miller on 08/01/2021 11:48:
Mike T
Wasn't Timber Reclamation Inc. a subsidiary of Bin Bag Corp.? They had a lot of business from me over the years...
Matt Carlton
If it looks ok when it's done I'll post it up for anyone to use. Likewise any other graphics I come up with. Tequila Sunrise is next on the list, wood permitting. American Dragon possibly 1.5x as well.

If you put the wings at Zero degrees incidence. It will make it much nicer.
Matt Carlton
Hmm. How big would a twice size AD be? 60"? Could be quite lightly built I suspect. Good thought about incidence. I like a flat bottom wing at zero, can be reasonably sporty whilst being floaty to land.

Peter Miller
American Dragon X 150% with Aierons. The wings definately need to be at 0 degrees incidence for proper aerobatics
Matt Carlton
That's very pretty Peter. I had in mind doing one all weathered and patched up, sort of 'well used' if that makes sense. What did you use for power?
Peter Miller
Hi Matt Yes,if you read the story that would look right. I used a 4-Max 3541 motor, 40 amp ESC,10X 5 APC prop. Can't remember the battery but it was probably a 2200 Mah 3 S battery.
Matt Carlton
If I could arrange a scantily clad figure of a Chinese girl to dangle from a rope ladder beneath it, that would finish it nicely!

Matt Carlton
Thankyou, A photo hides a hundred flaws! It's a really cuddly size thing. Just trying to decide on colour scheme now. I suspect it'll be yellow, with possibly "North Atlantic Honking Green"...
Peter Miller
IT is a very long time since I heard that description of a green!!!
