Wanted to order half a dozen of the above to replace some of my older batteries.   Only available from Hong Kong.   Are these subject to vat and import charge which almost doubles the price when dangerous goods postage applied?     Anyone know when Hobby King going to stock them in UK?

HK don't seem to have much in the way of LiPos of that size at the moment. Rapid RC seem out of stock too. Overland do a 2200 3s 25c pack fitted with an XT60 for £16.99 if that's any use, although their website doesn't seem to indicate if they have stock.

I have looked around other sites and similar batteries are avilable but at around £10 extra per battery. It's still slightly cheaper to import from Hong Kong but I am not desperate and maybe I wll hang on in the hope that Hobby King UK will get them in stock again.

They are available and in stock from 4-max - 2200 3S 40C - 80C burst at £22.50 no connection with 4-max apart from being a happy customer. You do have supply and solder the connection of your choice. JST-XH balance connectors are fitted.

did you want fancy 80C one minute discharge lipos, or regular sport types for a 5 minute flight?

No affiliation but is local to me, radiant for 12.50 and overlander for a few quid more. Not sure on stock though but worth a call.

I've had lipos from HK Global in the past but if the suspended this for a period does it matter ? they do send them now.

I strongly suspect the days of significanlty cheap lipos form the UK HK warehouse are gone - now the tax system has caught up with them they could even decide it is not worth their bother to ship from the UK at all. This is not even one Brexit related; the tax changes were coming even if we had stayed in the EU.

They're still stocking them and shipping from the EU warehouse.

 

I'm obviously missing something, but I can't see a significant tax difference between the two at this point.

Could it be related to the worldwide demand for Lithium based products, now that electric car production is growing?

HK will have more demand for products from their EU based store than the UK store (I would imagine), so that will get priority.

I find HK stock comes & goes - like is does anywhere else, particularly at the moment with supply chains still struggling.

 

there's an "Alert Me" button you can click that will email you when they come back into stock.

 

I only ever see stuff being available from the EU or Global warehouses recently - do they even have a UK warehouse any longer?

I notice that HK have no stock of the small 1S lipos used in indoor models. I need some but certainly will not pay the absurd prices elsewhere! ??Colin

If you only want a 20c Robot Birds are advertising a 3s 2200 20C for 14.95. Should be adequate for lower current draw

I'm curious as to what price counts as absurd? Surely the chance to fly is priceless?

Sorry, I could have equally added the EU warehouse too. My point is that both the in region outlets HK have that could serve us are now paying VAT which they effectively weren't before, so the prices will be significantly higher than they were. Combine that with the increased global demand for lithium and electric flight is definitely likel to get more expensive in the medium term.
