I will certainly post as I go, in the mean time let me show a previous project. 3
Martin Harris - Moderator
Wow - that’s certainly modelling at its purest. How did you rivet the wing skins - they don’t look like pop rivets but I can’t imagine how you’d access the rivet tails… Wing ribs hand made over a former? Just like full size airplanes are done, no pop riveting is done, when I post pictures upright they appear upside down here, why?

carlos rangel
Challenging steps coming ahead, especially with landing gear attachments, remember, every part is being created from scratch as in my case I don’t use RC modelling techniques. the idea is to use chino molybdenum tubing for the gear attached to fuselage with bolts. Same full size aircraft techniques are being used
carlos rangel
I found this valuable piece of information for the landing gear attachments points, this is the pioneer prototype drawing
carlos rangel
I finally built the master Fuselage bulkhead, this will have to carry the main wing wingspan struts, main landing gear attachments and

carlos rangel
This bulkhead is one of the biggest challenges in this airplane, the other challenge will be the working wing slat/flap combo. at first I was planing to build it at 1/4 which means 150 inches span, but is too big and cumbersome to move around, 23% (130 inches) is a nice size, I’ll try to keep it under 25 kg
carlos rangel
Next smaller challenge will be the firewall at it must bent at the top in order to follow the windshield line

carlos rangel
The idea here es to complete all the front fuselage frames, position them on the fuse jig to prevent any twisting, then rigging the top fuselage wingspar box.

A flying model of museum quality and authenticity. I'm in awe of such skilled building techniques, despite having worked at BAe Kingston-Upon-Thames in the eighties, and walking past Harriers and Hawks under construction every day (to get from the IT department to the shop floor tea and cake trolley). carlos rangel
Any idea how to edit pics here? When I upload, they show up upside down, any idea what am I doing wrong?
Martin Harris - Moderator
I can only see the odd one or two in the wrong orientation. I think you need to edit any inverted photos by 180 degrees - if you use a mobile phone, the image file remembers which way the phone was being held and this may lock the orientation. The edit only needs to change something, say the contrast, then save it, that way the photo will come through correct after uploading. BTW truly excellent work Carlos.
