Frank Skilbeck
Thought forum members would like to see this video I shot of Don Billinghams scratch built Airspeed Ambassador maiden flight at the LMA Cheddar fly-in on 26th August. Powered by Laser 360v's (turn the sound on). Test pilot - Steve Holland
Paul De Tourtoulon
That was nice, a twin, long undercarriage legs, first flight, and two people on the edge of the runway with cameras, a recipe for disaster,,, Edited August 28, 2022 by Paul De Tourtoulon
Solly
Superb, well done indeed. I remember the full size flying out of Newcastle airport in the 1950’s. When the aircraft was standing with the engines idling the tail plane and rudders used to vibrate noticeably!

RottenRow
That looks very nice. Well done to both Don and Steve. This is exactly the type of model I like, one of a subject that we shall never see flying again (and many of us will have never have seen). Sounds good with the Lasers. I bet it flies like a big trainer, with the high wing layout. Brian.
Alan Gorham_
I thought the advice was to land immediately if something falls off in flight?

We all knew immediately that it was an access hatch and it didn't affect the structure or flight handling.
stu knowles
A magnificent design and build project by Don Billingham, made his own retractable undercarriage too. Proper modelling, the latest in a long line of fine models designed and built by him
