PAUL HUTCHINSON 2
Hi guys, I've just purchase a 2nd hand Evolution 60 engine (on ebay) and the remote needle valve does not fit into where it used to. It look as if someone had modified it for a specific model, does anyone know where I could get a new one or fit an aftermarket replacement? Zflyer
The nipple on the assembly will be the fuel intake, you are a nipple missing (no offence) for the outlet which attaches to the blue tube. You may find a suitable one from another carb as they are a screw fit. There are some decent pics and a manual available on the web. PAUL HUTCHINSON 2
Thanks guys, perhaps I didn’t explain myself very well. The needle valve I have does not fit into the carb body it’s as if the outer diameter of the needle valve is too big to fit into the body. My question was if I can’t find spare parts are there any aftermarket assemblies that can be fitted to replace the original one. Cheers Paul
Keith Berriman
I see that Nexus Models are agents for Evolution engines worth a phone call tomorrow
Eric Robson
Hi Paul, are you trying to fit the needle to the carb? if so it won't work there, the carb is not designed for it , looking at the Evolution 60 photos the needle is at the rear like the one you have. As far as I can see all you need is a nipple as stated by Zflyer and Dennis.

Cheers Paul Many of the SC ,ASP etc used rear NVA's if y9u can find anyone with stock. Otherwise it's search around fir second -hand parts. I have quite a few needle valves in my spares but only one Evolution engine , a 46 I believe in the used motor box. I'll have a look and see if that differs from the others in the spares box . If I can find a spare I'll pm you.
Outrunner
If you bought the engine on eBay was it advertised as incomplete? If not you should take it up with the seller and ask for a resolution, if it's not as advertised then eBay will support your claim as you shouldn't have to be replacing missing bits. PAUL HUTCHINSON 2
Cheers Engine Doctor, let me know if you find a spare. The needle valve assy part number I need is EVO040874 Outrunner - I knew when I bought it that there was an issue with the needle valve assy. Denis Watkins
Just realised Paul, if you choose, you can negate the use of the bracket, by taking out the black bolt in the centre of the picture and your needle valve assembly, goes directly into that hole. I hope you manage to getting working soon.
Engine Doctor
Hi Paul sorry for late reply , all sorts of d8versions ! I checked the Evo needle valve against various other Chinese makes like Sc etc and pretty much all of them fit thread wise.nthe lengths are sometimes different but the threads seem standard. Have you got it sorted ? E.D.
PAUL HUTCHINSON 2
Hi Ed, thanks for the advice. I’ve fitted the existing needle valve and the new needle valve housing to the carb body and it all works fine. Fantastic advice as always on this forum!!!!
