jan brilman
Hi, Sarik has the plans, but not the article (I assume there has been an article). Percival Gull Six (59.5") - Plan - Sarik Hobbies - for the Model Builder Anyone here has more information on this model/the plans/the article? May be even build it? Thanks! jan brilman Netherlands
kc
The old Traplet catalogue reveals that this plan was published in RC ModelWorld August 1994. A copy of this magazine is on sale here. Price seems reasonable.
kc
I expect you have already seen the thread here on Modelflying about a quarter scale Vega Gull but if not the thread is here. I also see the Beryl Markham book referred to is available on Amazon UK in various editions. Edited November 10, 2022 by kc
jan brilman
KC thanks, that's very helpful informtion. 😃 Will order the magazine. This type of the Gull seems to be not very popular. 😐 I sort of have fallen in love with her (?) lines, can't take my eyes of her . . . 🥰 jan.

Comper
Just starting the Dennis Bryant Percival Gull will put some building pictures up in a day or two. I built one in the late seventies with a two stroke engine in, can’t remember what size. Hoping to put a laser 70 in this one

In the past ( in Britain) magazines and newspapers were not subject to taxes or import duties and had " Printed Matter" written on the label to clarify what they were. I thought this was an international thing too. So I wonder if you were charged in error for customs clearance?

kc
According to an old Plans Handbook the Dennis Bryant Percival Gull was in the July 1969 issue of Radio Modeller magazine. Someone may have the magazine...... It used to be that when buying RM, RCME etc plans that if you stated the magazine date they would supply a copy of the article at extra cost. Now that these plans are avaible from Sarik Hobbies it might be the same so it may be worth asking. However it is possible that Dennis Bryant included all the details on the actual plan. There are 2 copies of this mag for sale on EBAY in UK if you really want to buy one! Edited November 29, 2022 by kc

Comper
Made a start on the D. Bryant 72 inch Percival Gull, I couldn’t get the laser into the front of the Gull, too narrow so went for electric.
jan brilman
Looking good! You are using the wood pack from Sarik? Parts fits like a glove? jan.

Comper
Yes not bad better than cutting the parts out, would have liked to put the four stroke in it but lots would be hanging out. Seem to remember using a O S 46 years ago with the silencer sticking out of the bottom
kc
If this thread has switched over to the Dennis Bryant 72 inch version then perhaps the title of the thread should be changed to Dennis Bryant 72 inch. That might get comments from builders of that version. Edited December 8, 2022 by kc
