Good news. Treat it like a computer, and do regular backups. Companion is great for this, and it takes just a few minutes. Adding a model - do a back up Making significant changes - do a back up Making firmware changes - do a back up Making hardware changes - do abackup You get the message......

There are literally hundreds of translators on t'internet, including Google Translate. Personally, I'd double check one with another for consistency....

I try to empty the tanks. Half my boot (estate car) has a plastic boot liner, and all the messy bits are over this. The clean bits are on the folded down back seats.

I have had a tacho for years,........... And never used it. Tune by ear would be my advice. Oh, and do what ED says above....

I promised vids and photos.... Couple of the big Seagull Spitfire Tony's Pitts. We thought it would be horrible, twitchy, and nasty, but its a real pussycat. Feels porky though, even without its big 6S LiPo. Bargain from BMFA Classified - unflown, with just a touch of hangar rash from storage. Which Tony promptly added to be dropping a wire cutter onto the tailplane! This is Bens Learjet. Ben's returned to the hobby after a long layoff. This was in his loft. Fitted with new wheels after Mice ate holes in the originals. Old Irvine started easily, and ran sweetly on it's ancient tub of fuel! It didn't fly, or even taxi successfully on this occasion. Bigger wheels required.

Flying cows? Kites are slowly making a comeback in my area. I used to travel from home to work in Skipton regularly and always saw lots of Kites near Harewood House, but none near me. Now I regularly see one or two at the flying field. Buzzards are common. And it's very rare to travel anywhere dawn or dusk without seeing a Barn Owl near the hedgerows. Yesterday morning was good for wildlife - Hares, deer, Buzzard and Oyster Catchers in/around the field when I excused the dogs early morning, then Swallows, and a couple of lapwings during the day. Seeing and hearing the wildlife whilst drinking and talking rubbish between flights has become part of the attraction of this wonderful hobby. Sort of off topic, so I'll get back...... Interesting mornings flying yesterday. Took off with my Spacewalker, pulled a large loop (lovely Saito 82), reduced throttle for the dive.... no response.from throttle - stuck at full. Luckily the Saito soon empties the rather small tank. Drama free deadstick landing. Found the control rod had become unbolted from the throttle arm despite the thread lock. Found a spare nut. Reattached as tight as I dared. Off again. Within 30 seconds, same result. Going to rethink this! Flying buddy started his engine after a few flights. "That sounds different" he said. Stopped engine. Inspection of engine and airframe. Found nothing. Started engine. Took off. Flew around. After a few minutes, a horrid noise was heard. Engine revved crazily then stopped. Model glided past with no propellor on. Landed safely. All 4 boots attaching the propellor to the engine had sheared. Propellor, spinner lost. Engine seems undamaged apart from the prop driver assembly which looks a little.... chewed! In case anyone's thinking it's like 'The play that goes wrong', there were around 20 uneventful flights before I left 🙂 Semi-successful day, but topped up the tan....

So many Dandelons have grown on our runway in about 5 days that I lost my Spacewalker! Deffo peak season for them.... Daisies not far behind. On the subject of flying, I have been out what feels like dozens of times in the last few weeks. I have a proper farmers ruddy face. Not posted any pictures because you've all seen the models before- although I have a couple of piccies of new ones, and some video when I find time..... what with flting/charging/fixing, gardening, and snooker, there is little free time. Retirement is pants! Obviously joking - it's flippin' great! Wish I could have retired at about 30....

Possibly means 1215 square inches of area....

There are other sources of fuel..................... some people hate it but Weston do fuel with free carriage for 4 units. Could call them.....

Try removing the battery for a while......

Radiomaster TX16; What receivers are you using?
GrumpyGnome replied to Graham Davies 3's topic in Other Radio Brands
I meant formers, not farmers! Most I know would be far too...... large... to squeeze into a model fuselage - of any size! -

GrumpyGnome replied to Graham Davies 3's topic in Other Radio Brands
None of mine are in the 'recommended' V. I just stick them to the fuselage sides and farmers at right angles to each other. Secured by various methods - glue, straws, foam. Never had any issues, -
Lol

I pressed 'Like' for the model............................ not the pilot!

Congratulations if you did well; commiserations if you didn't!

Must admit I stopped reading after the first few paragraphs as the overt criticism of 'management' got tiresome. Sounded as if it was a post by a disgruntled ex-employee having a rant. Happy to read about issues and possible solutions but really don't care if any blame should be attributed to managers, workers, accountants, packing dept, covering department, couriers, random passing strangers, or anyone else. Maybe allocating blame is a cultural thing.

I’ve had a stroke at age44 last week!

We mustn't forget, publishing a magazine in not a labour of love - it's a business. And, like all businesses. It has to be financially viable. So All the changes we've seen in the past few years have been driven by economic pressures, as well as changing habits......... For example many forumites openly say they never buy the magazine any more. I can see it becoming digital only in a relatively short time - the high costs being instantly removed. Would I still subscribe? Yes I would. If It does go though, it won't lead to the demise of the hobby - only our own apathy and negativity will do that.

@dcw a mod will close the thread for you if you ask them...... Either DM one, or use the three buttons top right of a post and use 'Report' (there may be another way that I am unaware of)
