  1. I always chuckle, though perhaps should not, when people use air travel as a standard for safeness regarding accident (fatality) figures,i.e. death/injuries per mile. Most aircraft accidents happen during takeoff/landing. The mileage is considerably reduced!! Dont use the miles inbetween, planes have to take off and land.
  2. Great people out there flying. Today windy, but its the gusts that are a problem so no flying.🙄
  3. Look at the Acer range,i have had two both brilliant. Only reason lost first one was being dropped.
  4. Yep,click on a thread up pops an ad. Only appears once, on opening. Close it and the forum resumes. Irritant at best.
  5. Unless your gettin really techie, or an exquisite builder save your money
  6. Martins comment above is correct. Presently aided by increase in costs and less disposable cash. Those traders that do go im sure will have a worthwhile weekend, that said limited competition maymean fewer price reduction.
  7. For solo learners i think 'practise makes confetti' whilst tutored make jigsaws.......
  8. It is correct to assume that the male and female identity would be the metal, however as pointed out for the use of these battery terminals it is the plastic casing. It caused me no end of problem when I wanted to order connectors as being a former electrician I used the time honoured, and in my view, correct description. Deans are a different matter as its basically metal to metal!!!! Problem is if the blighters identify as something else!!
  9. Is there reduced trade this year or are we judging by last year ?
  10. I wonder if anyone has expiremented with the proprietary Arrrows gyros. Might be worth a punt in a small depron model ??
  11. As long as you are learning to fly, with people who know what they are doing and with the appropriate model, everything else is just stuff. I jumped in both feet spent a lot bought stuff which i never flew and eventually sold on, at a loss, but hey ho it is my time and money. I enjoy my flying and have a couple of regular in use models. I have stuff to maidan, stuff to repair stuff to wish for, its called life, this hobby just happens to be a part of mine. Like all on here despite its hiccups I enjoy, when that stops so will I. Toto I trust you will do the same
  12. Been today, despite the wind, had a couple of flights with Wot 4 MkII. I just got to the stage when I realised that if I keep letting the wind dictate I will not fly so just going for it. Of course there were others there as well so knowing they would fly, and far more experienced than I just gives confidence.
  13. I have a range of adaptors,it cries out for universal standard. I have had no problems with commercial ones, the ones i do have problems with are those imake up. My soldering isnt great
  14. I have the Phoenix and have found it to be a good sim. I got my brother a copy but he required a dongle so got one from e bay, didnt work and no success with another we tried. So for me its the dongle that's the issue. (I have the original but you cannot get into it as its surrounded by a black tar like substance)
  15. Thought the thread was about receivers.... and just my 2d worth (thats pennies in old money) Radiomaster TX16.
  16. Every up has a down. I remain to be convinced that there are not some side effects. However i do nit think they are severe in a large scale. Get up get on life will wear us all out eventually.
  17. Sorted. Using FrskyX2 on the EU/LBT protocol from a distance of 10 feet. Unless of course it was the other half's magic button pressing!
  18. Some success, bound and secured failsafe on the R86's.
  19. Have tried it all, including differing protocols, nothing works. I wouldnt mind but have problem with R86's as well. Cannot get these into failsafe. I sent the TX back sometime ago wondering if it was faulty but it is not. The S6R bound straightaway and some of my spektrum rx's done the same. Its so damn annoying. I was thinking of flashing the RX8R EU/LBT to D16 to see if that would help. What I need is someone local with same TX to have a go. I might even consider posting, or if not to far away rocking up with them!!
  20. Here we go: I have a Radiomaster TX16s and both RM 86 (V2) FRsky RX8R (ACCST)receivers, the former will bind but wont go into failsafe. I have been unable to bind the RX8R, marked up as EU/LBT and I have tried this protocol, in fact I have tried all the Frsky protocols and none work. I have bound some Spektrum and also a Frsky S6R. I bought the TX because I had a mainboard failure on my Spektrum, and it was a good price. I think the money I have spent on receivers would have brought me up to a price to replace the Spektrum. Unless anyone can help they are going back or in the bin!!!!!
  21. Have you tried Gliders in Newark
