  1. Good question E.D. All I have is the confirmation email from the BMFA that I'm a member on my phone.
  2. Hi Chris, finally got round to sorting my new workshop out. My Madcap currently has an Emax cf2822 motor with an 8 x 3.8 prop and a 20amp esc. Batteries are 500mA 3s and give around 6/7 minutes flying time. I am looking at putting a larger battery in mainly for balance as it will pootle along nicely on half throttle. Hope this helps, Dave P
  3. Yes, I removed a paw diesel from mine and changed to electric, its actually on its second electric setup now. I've just moved house and lots of stuff is still in boxes but I'll have a look later and see what powertrain I used, can't remember off the top of my head, it's an age thing ?
  4. I use a section of copper pipe, 15 or 22mm with a piece of brass plate soldered across each end, I'll see if I can find a photo.
  5. Nope don't remember that one, but did build a similar looking one. The Phantom mite, powered by a DC supermerlin 0.75cc, an engine I still have and still runs beautifully ?
  6. I built the Prima from an old kit I bought on Ebay, good as a trainer and also aerobatic in the right hands.....
  7. Looking great, what paint are you using ?
  8. Thanks for that, they have a shop walking distance from me, I'll check them out ?
  9. Hi Martin, would you be interested in this magazine, it has an 8 page article on rebuilding the Comper. If so just send me your address, by pm, and I'll post it to you. Atb, Dave P
  10. Hi Ron, if you're still taking orders I'd like one to. Thanks Dave P
  11. Now that is the shape of a proper pilot, not like the ones you see with ramrod straight backs ?. Looking forward to you completing the project.
  12. I'm looking at moving house soon so have been sorting out my "stuff" when I came across a box with old Aeromodeller magazines in it, mostly dated late 60's to early 70's. Fascinating reading them again but wondering what to do with them, are they worth anything?
  13. I agree with John T, I built the Vic Smeed "Madcap" which has a lifting tail and had rudder and elevator originally with a paw 1.00cc. Now electrified so also now has throttle, no problem at all ?
  14. Hi Martin, all looking good, following with interest but have to say I'm not a fan of the small highlighted text. Difficult to read on a small device, maybe it's just me though.
  15. Hi Robin, yes I'm always interested in how others tackle builds and the problems they sometimes pose. I've a Sopwith Pup which I hope to start soon, it's my first WW1 project, so watch builds of that era closely.
  16. I'm going to be boring now and say look at my avatar, the 4th aircraft I've owned or had a share in. I'm also looking at a new (to me) motorcycle for the summer but a cruiser this time as age is catching up with me ? and race reps are just too uncomfortable now.
  17. I've found it on Ebay in the past, currently got a supplier on my watch list I'll check for you. Oops it's the component shop, sorry. However there's nothing to stop you using a slightly thicker wire for the extension other than a slight weight gain..
  18. If you have a DX6i you probably have dsmx receivers so an upgrade isn't too difficult, I have and use a DX6i and a DX8.
  19. Can't see why not, as long as no extra strain is put on the connection to the battery.
  20. Different colour tubing is a good idea, I use Green for Glow, and Pink for Pressure...
