Servo tester and digital servo query
Shaun Walsh replied to Graham Bowers's topic in All Things Model Flying
How are you powering the servo tester? I had this happen when running the tester from a run down 4 cell NiMH pack. Recharged the battery and everything worked fine. -
If portability isn't required, would you not be better off with a floor standing PC? The choice of keyboard/screen/mouse is then up to you. More inputs available (USB etc) and, if you buy one without operating system you can choose whatever suits your peripherals. Also, much easier to upgrade components.

An interesting concept, like the idea of build it yourself and the plug in modules. Pretty good spec but a bit expensive.

Come on Weston Park !!!!!
Shaun Walsh replied to Rocker's topic in Shows, Club Events and Competitions
Perhaps the price difference reflects the cost to Weston Park of arranging the full size air display part of the show? -
Spektrum Forward Programming
Shaun Walsh replied to john davidson 1's topic in General Radio Discussion
Also the tx and rx both need to be switched on to access forward programming. -
Spektrum Forward Programming
Shaun Walsh replied to john davidson 1's topic in General Radio Discussion
Have you registered your tx with Spektrum? Not sure if firmware updates are tx specific. Might need to go to "my spektrum" and download the firmware and try reinstalling. -
Didn't realise that the range of 4-Max ESCs had changed, I have a few of the older ones that use the white programming card and they are very good. I see that the BEC rating for the 30A ESC has dropped from 4 amps to 2 amps in the latest version which is a retrograde step. Had to buy elsewhere because of that.

3D Printed Planeprint Jetwing - STRUCTURAL FAILURE WARNING

I can't believe it's not flutter.🤣 -
I have several caseless Lemon 6 channel receivers in thermal gliders and can vouch for the fact that they have out-of-sight range. I also have several 7 channel Stabiliser Plus receivers (not the latest version) which have been less successful. The stabilisation function has worked fine but I have had a number of holds which fortunately have not resulted in destroyed models, just one simple repair. More recently I suspect that the stabilised receivers may be more BEC power supply critical and I may have not been supplying enough wattage to keep the receiver and all 4 servos happy given that the receiver is constantly moving the servos when stabilisation is engaged. May retry with a beefed up BEC and see what happens,

In the 1920s my late father in law was starting his chemistry degree and one of the modules was "laboratory techniques" he remembers the lecturer explaining that the art of pipetting by mouth was all about concentration and correct technique. He demonstrated by mouth pipetting a concentrated solution of potassium cyanide.🤯

Many years ago I worked for a company that bought bulk chemicals and repacked them for sale to universities etc. The person I was working with was repacking a 100Kg drum of Ammonium Nitrate which can, in certain circumstances, detonate (although generally not under ambient conditions). I crept up behind him and dropped a 70Kg drum of Iodine on the floor behind him. A cigarette and change of underwear were required. He got his revenge when I was packing a large drum of something very toxic, he turned off the air supply to my breathing apparatus! Not sure the Health and Safety Executive have much of a sense of humour these days.

Have you plugged the esc lead into the correct socket on the 620. I had the same problem, no motor, turned out I had plugged the lead in the wrong place I had plugged it into the batt socket instead of channel 1.
