  1. Amongst others, I tape this on to my planes.
  2. I wasn't far from a crash similar to yours a couple of months ago, I was doing my preflight check before my days flying only to see that one half of the elevator was not in line with the other, one servo but 2 links to the halves, one of the rubbish quick links had stripped a bit of the steel ( chocolat) command wire.
  3. I did use it in the 1980's when I started flying helicopters but not at all anywhere now, it can be dangerous on the elevator when landing, especially in windy conditions, so NO thanks,,,
  4. Cutting it a bit fine for the UC legs ?.
  5. No local boatyards where you could pick up a bit of brass from an old prop shaft ?.
  6. Interesting, after 50+years, of rc planes I hadn't even thought about that.
  7. I give my planes a charge in my car at around 11.30am, as that is when I have decided what to fly, I use Robbe infinity 2 on 'automatic', and have done probably for over 20 years since this charger came out, I now have 3 of them. I unplug my batteries when I have finished flying, this one showed that it was fully charged and took about 200mah of charge, and this battery wasn't all that old, probably less than 5 years, I do have some that are more than 10 years old without any problem.
  8. Beware of battery's !, I got one of my Spitfires out after probably 9 months ( battery disconnected from the switch) gave it a charge, down to the field, open up the retracts, filled the tank and flooded my good old Enya 120 4c, checked the command throws which seemed a bit slow, so I checked them for a couple more minutes and every servo just stopped moving the battery was completely dead, a lucky escape.
  9. I used to think that, 'but' I got my Saito FG-30 out after a year with 1/2litre of my old 5% petrol mix and although I had to open the main screw 1/4 of a turn it ran perfectly, I re mixed another litre and flew it another 2 days without touching the carb even though it was a new mix.
  10. It's the size of a small trailer,,😄
  11. Does it come with a 2" or 50mm ball hitch ?.😂
  12. That's what I posted,,, maybe one of these 1/8 car starters, plenty of options about, but you will have to make a cone for planes as it is delivered with a shaft.
  13. Sorry to hear about all your woes. £25 for a flying lesson 😨. Try 'function' = change motor to Throttle,,, Sorry but I can't agree with Futaba being difficult to program, only if you are used to old radios with no functions.
  14. Page 84 and 85 can't you find someone in a local club to help you ?. http://manuals.hobbico.com/fut/14sg-manual.pdf
  15. A thought while walking the dog, any cheap starter would do the job if you are willing to fiddle with it, make a "u" from aluminium bolted to each end and a couple of half rounds in wood and a switch.
  16. It's all on the web, free to download, didn't you get instructions when you bought it ?. good luck,,,
  17. For those small engines a small geared one will do, I did have Gary's one looonnnggg ago ( 1970's), but it didn't last long, maybe the gears are better now, if not this one ?. https://www.justengines.co.uk/shop/accessories/starting-gear/jen-6-51-geared-starter-12-24-volt/?v=11aedd0e4327
  18. What sort and size engines do you have ?, This on a 12volt battery or a lipo on 3s will start anything up to a 30cc petrol.
