  1. Check for any cracks or fractures in the tensioner arm, this was the issue on mine.
  2. When I bought lightburn, just a couple of years ago it was £40 IIRC? pretty big price increase and with the amount I use it I'm not sure I'd bother now. OMTech have some pretty decently priced honeycomb beds on Amazon and if it's not 100% the correct size it's pretty simple to cut down and adjust to suit.
  3. If printing ABS etc is important (there are other suitable materials) then yes, an enclosure is required but then we're not looking at a Bambu A1 which is open frame, you'd be looking at the p1s and at £700 goes beyond my budget. I've actually successfully printed ABS on a Ender 3 V2 in a soft enclosure and used the printed parts to turn said ender in to a core XY machine!! hard to believe it was once an old Ender 3 v2 now lol
  4. Hi Allan, just to avoid any confusion - the link I posted was to a deal on the anycubic Kobra3 with AMS, I think you must me talking about the post above mine from Robin Colbourne that links to an article talking about the new Bambu labs update. 🙂 I've personally decided to avoid bambu labs as I enjoy the freedom of using different software and even firmware versions and the ability to 'upgrade' parts at will. Something the Ender series is/was awesome for.
  5. Although they've not had a great rep in the past the Kobra V3 from anycubic is looking REALLY tempting, £299 with an AMS that dries the filament.. https://uk.anycubic.com/products/kobra-3-combo?currency=GBP&variant=49176245305629&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Google Shopping&stkn=93a085b74d2c&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc_pmax&utm_campaign=uk_sales_pmax_k3series_0226&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22280432307&gbraid=0AAAAAqsQNF_Og_A9G4lY1cJL5vV8_Nusf&gclid=CjwKCAjwx8nCBhAwEiwA_z__05BcUxCW75-A97R_LjilaUtJ1h-Jo1X3JK-JGQVWkcfqgQN9n74ZBxoCRxUQAvD_BwE
  6. No, nice and simple. Putting tape around the edge of the cowl while messing with it to stop it splitting is a good idea. Feel free to message any questions if you have any.
  7. It's very loosely based on the one I flew in the ATC, sadly I don't know the original reg so this one is WP970
  8. The lovely weather Saturday saw the maiden of my Stan Yeo CS Chippy, flew really nicely from the off.
  9. Hi Colin, Yes mine did too but I'd like to use the batteries in a UMX so wondered if the same philosyphy applied using the battery as charging it. with that lead?
  10. Thanks John, yes mine is also for a UMX model, a Waco just as a bit of fun when I'm away.
  11. So I have some small lipos I use with a Goosky S1 that only have a balance lead, does such a thing exist to convert that balance lead to a JST-RCY connector? I assume so as to charge said lipos I have an adapter that splits the balance lead to a balance lead AND a XT60 plug?
  12. Hi, I maybe should have messaged rather than reply to the thread but I was wondering if anybody has any build pictures of this model or general advice? I'm still new to building and just starting this exact model. I thought I'd be fine but it appears that I've fallen literally at the first hurdel! I've read through the supplied instructions but just can't get my head around this...(Item 4)
  13. 100% Agree, Ex smoker and vaper here but I was getting very tense having one vaping and one lighting up right in front of me right at the back of the tent. My other gripe with Weston this year was a lack of any 'schedule' as much as I appreciate it was a bit hit and miss due to the weather some guide on times would've been usefull, we actually thought the fireworks had finished just after the grobbes and headed back to the tent, along with many others only to here the full display a while after! Moans aside, I appreciate those that done their best in giving us a display putting their own comfort to the back and getting soaked!
  14. Hi, so I've looked in to this the best I can but I find it all quite confusing! Can anybody here tell be what tax/duty would be payable on say £120 goods from China, as far as I can tell, they would add tax at 20% as it is under 135£ but would any import duties or other charges be levied by customs? Thanks
  15. As GG says, you can get office (ie, word, excel, outlook etc)for minimal cost for a perpetual license, none of this subscription lark. Windows it's self is a one of cost.
  16. What do you mean by a "Windows annual subscription" - windows itself it not subscription? In any case, many people say that windows defender (built in and free) is good enough not to require an additional antivirus product for most users. Just also be aware that Windows 10 is end of life and therefore will become unsupported before too long, I can't remember the dates but 2025 I think.
  17. Awesome! First of my bits should arrive today/tomorrow, it's all a bit over my head but my son and I have taken it on together, should be a fun thing for me to learn. Thanks very much to FlyinFinn and Dave windymiller for sharing your work!
  18. Fantastic, appreciate the advice. Mine has two 3s 2200s up front and balances around 90mm from F2, total weight is only just over 4lbs so didn't know whether to leave as is for the maiden or add weight up front.
  19. What was the general consensus on C of G for these models, I remember seeing some discussion around it but can't find it now..so may related threads! Thanks
  20. Ah, I was getting the same message so I'll try that, thanks for the heads up.
  21. Thanks all, I've utilised (stolen, plagerised, ripped off or whatever you want to call it) lots of ideas from the many that have shared thier build, not least of all Ron for his videos but LM and many others have been a great help.
  22. Not sure why but the wings now look like a pair of nora batties tights, been OK up until now and looks OK in the picture but lots of bubbles now?
  23. Hmm, it's now on my list of things to do!
