John Privett
Right then, it's the penultimate race of the season and the constructors' title is still up for grabs, as is our league title! So without further ado, the customary reminder; Don't forget your predictions! Verstappen was fastest in P1, with the Mercedes duo taking a slender lead in P2. P3 is at 2pm tomorrow with qualifying following at 5pm UK time. The race on Sunday is at 5:10pm.

John Privett
Posted by john stones 1 on 09/11/2018 21:20:52: Penultimate...thought it was next to last one. Err... yes - it's both! Penultimate - "last but one in a series of things; second last." Derived from the Latin - paene (almost) ultimus (last) Anyway - my predictions are done - subject to any changes after P3! Just over 6 hours to go until qualifying!
john stones 1 - Moderator
I know. What do we think then, will Lewis get the chance to let Valtteri overtake and win a race ?
McG 6969
Nope, John. I don't think Valtteri would be happy with a 'giveaway' anyhow. Anybody Mad Max for pole... ??? Cheers Chris
john stones 1 - Moderator
He "gave" one to Lewis.

McG 6969
At least, that's a great start, John. Nope, nada, niets, zéro for me... here we go again... Cheers Chris
John Privett
D'Oh... 5 minutes before qualifying - after being out flying in the afternoon - I changed my pole position prediction in light of the P3 results. That's 10 points down the drain...
Pete B
OK with 30 pts in the bag so far - this afternoon is where it all starts to go downhill........ Pete
McG 6969
I must admit I'm a bit lost regarding your "30 points" bagged so far, Pete ... You can get 10 pts for Lewis in your predictions, no probs. You can get 5 pts if he's part of your team, no probs. You can have 2x 5 pts if your 2 other drivers beat their team mates, no probs. But that makes 25 and not 30... ??! I must be missing 'something' here... Or do the Mods get a special bonus. Anyhow, the season is ending and I probably be able to understand the regs better next year. Cheers Chris
Pete B
10pts for predicting polesitter, 5pts for each driver who qualis ahead of his teammate plus 10pts if the driver takes pole. That makes 30, Chris. My other driver let me down for the first time this season.... John Privett
Right then, I've delayed putting the results up for the benefit of the Channel 4 folks... But hopefully if you're a channel 4 person then you're watching the race now, and not browsing the forum. But if you are a channel 4 person and watching the race and browsing the forum then; ***SPOILER ALERT*** You might choose not to read the next few posts until the race is over! OK! John Privett
So, was Pete right to be pessimistic about his score when he posted earlier? Oh heck... looks like he wasn't! Pete B
Thanks, John. That was tense final 10 laps or so - I was willing none of the positions of the first 5 to change! On to the final race then, John P - I think I'd much rather be in your position - nicking another 16 points off you will be a very tall order indeed....though it's not over 'til the fat lady sings! McG 6969
Congrats to Pete, Simon & John T. This will give us a splendid final between John and Pete. Thanks for pointing me to those 10 pts for Pole, Pete. A bit too late now for me to start to understand the regs, I guess. Time also for the season to end for Gaston Formula. My last races were just 'disasters', but I'll blame the Red Baron and his Big Horse colleagues... Even Gaston is showing symptoms of fibrillation now... John Tee
Well done to Pete and Simon. Have there been any corrections as when I checked the Fantasygp site yesterday I had 160 points as above , today I have 136. Still a good result for me but may put me down below Gary again.
