Colin Leighfield
I'm definitely watching. I think as a flyer this has all of the ingredients to be excellent, as well as being impressive. Great choice Tony.

Reno Racer
Tony, This has watered my appetite to try depron, rather than balsa and ply for my next build. What to you do for loading bearing areas and wing spars, still use ply/balsa or carbon fibre? How do you glue depron to depron and depron to wood or carbon fibre? I have only every used UHU on depron before. Cant wait to see your finished airframe Safe Landings, RR
Tony Bennett
ha a ha . uhu por for depron and balsa to depron epoxy for ply to depron. i use aluminium tube and balsa and ply for high stress area's. though on a model this size i think i will be using carbon tubes . Tony Bennett
still working on the nose section. the gun ports are not the wrong way round before you start. on the funny jet i am building they took the guns out and fitted covers over the openings. the rest of the gun ports will be on the next bit of sheeting when i do it. john stones 1 - Moderator
I'll talk to you then, how you done the frame on canopy is it depron/ wood laminates? and building on this scale with uhu por must cost a few quid is there no industrial glue suitable that you could buy in larger quantity's. Tony Bennett
the canopy frames and made up from 2 layers of 1.5mm hard balsa with a 3mm Depron core. light and strong enough. i have used 2 tubes of uhu por so far on the build. i use it cos it is a contact adhesive so i don't have to hold parts together while they set. still works out cheaper than using balsa wood. so far the whole fuselage has cost £9.00 in depron and £6.00 in glue. john stones 1 - Moderator
Can't fault that then Tony on a model that big John
Dave Hopkin
On the subject of glues.... I have tried some of the cheap clear contact adhesives from the pound shop when making up foam cradles for XT's etc doesn't attack the foam and sticks well enough, so is there a good reason we restrict ourselves to UHU Por? Tony Bennett
just personal choice sir. pu glues are good, but they foam so the parts need to be held together while setting. it is always best to test the glues before using to check they don't dissolve the foam. Tony Bennett
now this is no where near up to the standards of some people on here, but it is only a foamy. so it will do me. i have the rudder pedals and control column still to make and then i can take a look at a pilot. all the holes i cut reduced the nose by 27gms and i
