Geoff Jackson
Absolutely! What a giant of music - a true minstrel.
Tim Hooper
Yep - a major influence on the young Hooper back in the 70's. Moving on; Netty and I got to see him perform live a few years back on the UK leg of a world tour. He was nearly 80 then, and came across as an elder statesman of music. Just last year, we chose Cohen's 'Dance me to the end of love" as one of the songs to be played at our wedding. tim **LINK**

Pete B
Sorry, can't agree with you chaps and the Twitterati - always considered Leonard Cohen's music an ideal accompaniment to topping oneself - and far too depressing for the average funeral.... Geoff Jackson
Button my lip! His lyrics were on a par with the the great poets. His voice may have been an acquired taste but he still had a profound effect on contemporary music. One of the greats.

Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
Gentlemen please! The man has died, a little respect is due surely! If you can't say something positive about about someone who has died then maybe you should let your silence speak eloquently for you? David Davis
Saw him live in Adelaide in the Eighties. A first rate poet.
Graham R
Another great one one gone. Great poet. Guess we have only got Bob Dylan left from that great protest era.
Cuban8
When the announcement that Leonard Cohen had died was broadcast, I had to Google him because although I'd heard the name before, I thought he was a politician. Clearly his music has never floated by particular boat - but then most of Bob Dylan's stuff doesn't register with me either. No accounting for taste, I suppose.
