john stones 1 - Moderator
Best plan for Iqon would be to adapt it so he could grip it, and launch under hand.
Chris Barlow
Have you tried a wing tip DLG type launch?

I tried holding various ways at weekend and didnt feel comfortable enough to throw it, best way was to give somebody else....Gary threw it perfeclty, but while i was flying mine the next chap`s didnt go to plan.....It may have just been that it was a new one and hand holds slippy ?... When I get chance I am hoping to take to field with long grass and try throwing knowing it may survive my attempts, It may turn out that the sandpaper I glued on will work fine for me.. Don Fry
I made a dolly for a HK Skipper. All a bit hairy, not enough airframe mass, and I noticed that on such a small aircraft, the motor struggles to pull the extra mass. I would explore a catapult launcher first. An old club of mine used to use bits of old broken dinghy mast, with a sail slide used to guide the plane. The only mod to the plane was a flush fitted dowel across the C of G, to hook to. We were launching funfighters for combat vandalism.
Trevor Crook
Donald, I'm surprised you needed a dolly for the Skipper - as said above, mine slides into the air quite happily from grass. For protection, I've put a strip of 50mm fibreglass tape along the "keel", and that probably makes it slide better. Iqon, abrasive paper will certainly help - I used 400 grade wet or dry as it's what I had to hand.
Brian Hammond
I use a home made ramp for all my pushers, it,s made out of plastic drain pipe from Toolstation and Bungee cord from EBay . Just fit a hook a bit in front of the CG and retain all your fingers!
Denis Watkins
A simple request for a Radjet dolly from Iqon .But .......there is always a but....I cant throw....I`ll spell it out, I`m disabled.......I always like to be Independent even when there is no need, there is not always somebody there to throw it for me and I dont feel comfortable doing it on my own and now having seen what happens when it goes wrong I want to come up with an alternative way of launching it. john stones 1 - Moderator
And he's had some simple answers Denis, a dolly is very unlikely to work on our strip, if the grass has been cut, the cuttings will stop the dolly, if it's not been cut, the long grass will stop it. Denis Watkins
Thanks John I understand you now Methinks a model with an undercarriage would be a better answer, I will make you one up if you send me dimensions bud
