Martin Harris - Moderator
Down at our field I've found that the upside of the upside downwards launching technique is down to the upward trajectory of downthrust preventing a downward departure after launch. Never forget that it's up to the pilot to ensure a safe flight and down to the launcher if the launch isn't up to standard. Down the years (up to now at least) the ups and downs of hand launching have been discussed both up at the field - and afterwards down at the pub while downing a few drinks to keep spirits up after the odd model has gone down.
