Ron Gray
A battery does get lighter as the capacity is reduced, it's a well known fact, just as a memory stick gets heavier the more data there is on it (true!). So when doing the nose up with a leccy jobbie, always use a fully charged battery.
gangster
Does doing a balanced charge alleviate the need to have a balanced battery pack
Chris Channon
I always thought the engine leaned out a bit as it unwinds in the air, not richer. You learn something new every day !Have a good dayChris.C.
Nigel Dell
I was taught to raise nose to check the engine does lean out many years ago, but this was on control line models when horizontal you wanted them to ‘fourstroke’* term used then, so basically they were tuned slightly Rich. Did it out of habit when first into R/C but not really now, depends how far regressed I have gone!🤪😉😳

Keith Berriman
Memory banks are telling me that somewhere I have seen a leaflet in a 2 stroke Thunder Tiger box to do some up and down nose test ??
Tim Flyer
What about a nose down test.? Might be useful? Could also be used to control grass length 😉

Tim Flyer
I must admit I have enjoyed this thread I know it has a more serious side but I’m afraid it’s quite funny too and it’s some relief from the humdrum 😊😊😊
Don Fry
Totally agree. Now all we need a another BEB engineering conundrum. I loved the airport conveyor belt runway jobbie. Mind electric cars has provided amusement and education.

Keith Berriman
So the memory banks have remembered where the pamphlet was, reading the notes the Nose Up -- Nose Down test was all to do with the Air Bleed Screw setting of the carb similar to main jet settings that this thread has been relating to
