Dwain Dibley.
I wish Chris, that should read 06.01.21.😂😂 Thanks for the kind words, it would be lonely on the vintage scene without you, John and Tim.😣😘 D.D. Dwain Dibley.
So, the second wing is on the bench drying. I also fixed the control rods and the the tail feathers, I decided not to band them on. D.D.
Rich Griff
Nice, lots of pics, not read yet but will use your knowledge and experience on/of the electric power set up...merry Xmas and new year, stay safe

Dwain Dibley.
I made up the second wing today and have joined the wings at the correct dihedral. I made some blocks at 3.5 inches high. There is some bandage supplied, which I will use to epoxy the centre joint once the glue is dry. D.D. Made some wedges to fill the gaps. Supplied bandage. Geoff S
Well that rules me out of building an Answer (or questions my building an Answer?). We don't have a bath! When we realised we only used it to stand in when having a shower we replaced with it proper shower cabinet and avoided the risk of slipping over as we climbed in. Always a risk at our age Other than that, you're doing a great job. The only vintage style model I've built was a Popsie which I never got to fly and is one of myriad aeromodelling failures. Dwain Dibley.
Perhaps a neighbour could help Geoff .. Mind you, if you are quick, torrential rain is on the menu for next week LOL. On a serious note I think I could have gotten away with simply running the things under the tap mate. Thanks for the compliment anyway, it's appreciated. Your Popsie, do you mean it was unflyable, or you just never got round to it ? D.D.
Geoff S
Well there are a lot of puddles in the lane outside Yes, the Popsie seemed to be unflyable. I had a struggle getting the CoG right and then it simply wouldn't taxi straight enough to take off. I had a short flight tail heavy with no damage but then I gave up and shoved it in the loft over the workshop. I used a set of cnc parts made by someone on the 'other' forum. Perhaps I should have another go at it. But this is all about your Answer rather than my Popsie. Geoff
Dwain Dibley.
No worries Geoff, Tim Mentioned bad ground handling due to the tiny rudder, and the need for a hand launch, maybe you should have another go. Once in the air these babies are a delight to play with, and very relaxing to fly. D.D.
Dwain Dibley.
The final push for today. I made the centre section, and fixed it to the wing. Just the shaping to do and then the bandage can go on. D.D.
Dwain Dibley.
The wing is all sanded to profile and I have also added the Bandage, with the help of some Z-poxy. D.D.
Dwain Dibley.
Centre join all sanded and filled and sanded again. I have replicated the classic design using brown paper and will cover over this so it shows through. Seems to have worked ok. D.D.

Murat Kece 1
That is such a neat job and good looking plane.. Excellent.. I presume you glued the brown paper dry to avoid warping?
Dwain Dibley.
Thanks Nigel. Murat, I soaked the brown paper, but not for too long cos it "grows", then I ironed it on, iron set to 160 degrees. I marked and cut the paper prior to gluing. The paper combined with a layer of glue turns out very stiff. Cheers D.D.
Dwain Dibley.
The wing is now covered, and the uncambered part went better than I expected. I have done one before, but this H.K. film shrinks like nobody's business, so I left a bit more slack than you normally would, and ironed the covering onto the ribs with the iron set at about 140 degrees. Anyway, it worked well and here's the final result. Amazingly, the model balanced bang on the C of G, with out any lead/extra ballast. The battery is slid down the former that Tim slid his up. Another model joins the pile to maiden when Covid finally goes away. Next on the bench is an RBC Kits Messerschmitt M-19......If it turns up LOL. D.D. Balanced on the spot. Trying to show the undercambered covering.
