Anybody out there in radio land got one of the old type balance bars that they are never going use? Like this one

It apparently the early type. The later cranked type makes it impossible to close the case with it in the correct position.

It could be the Taranis Neck Strap & Bracket listed here.

The latter ones have a crank in them, and it sounds like the OP does not want one of those, though I suspect the foam in the case could be adjusted to take it.

Would you risk your TX and possibly a model on a 3d printed piece of plastic?

I don’t see why not. The Taranis is a light TX, you could easily oversize the bar width to add strength if you were worried, and people use 3D printed plastic in way more high stress areas than that these days.

It looks like there are cheap aftermarket ones available on eBay, some designed for a vertically oriented attachment point, others a horizontal one. No idea on quality or whether they will meet the OP’s needs though…

Bought that exact one expecting it to be straight.

The hard case will not close with the cranked one in place. The problem being caused or perhaps at least compounded by having a DJT module in the back of the tx. The soft case wll zip up but resembles a small marquee!
