  1. What would the PEM fuel cell and water injection system weigh? Anyone with any insight? They talk of 100W upwards but for wider fixed wing applications would it give a total power system weight saving over conventional Li cells?
  2. I've got a wireless PIR connected to the house system. Last year I had a spate of false alarms when I'd left a sheet of EPS foam underlay hanging loose from a shelf, the sheet was flapping around in a draft during spells of high winds. Cured by a) moving the foam and b) sealing the source of the drafts with a dose of expanding foam.
  3. Day 1 it would have to be Wot4 and Acrowot foamies, just to see if the fingers still work. IIRC I have 5 to maiden but they're all bigger 6S jobs so they will be at the back of the queue.
  4. I like the Wattsisnohm David, just like some of the rubber powered jobs I built way back when!
  5. With the average age of the clientele give it a week and we'll have forgotten there ever was another site ?
  6. It's not that uncommon for business users to keep their own Paypal account for their website use. Have you emailed [email protected] to check whether they have your order? I see the wheels are $158 which is about right for £140, though that doesn't sound to include international shipping. It also says international customers should email the before ordering!
  7. I used to run the JE/WestonUK Genesis pipes I had a bit long with large high pitch props and got useful increases in torque on OS 61SF, ST61 and MVVS90s along with sub 80dBa noise tests, nice for aerobatics ☺️
  8. If you told me they were sprayed I'd say that they'd come out well, but film? There's a fair bit of work to get them looking that good ?
  9. Ah, but they had a 180 degree rotation giving more effective power at the end of the travel for a positive lock owing to the mechanical advantage at low offsets from the servo output axis.
  10. Ape-hangers could be a bit higher Martin! I'm not sure that one is meant to be dismantled and slung in the back of a car either. It does have style though ? So far Colin's Li-Tech suggestion is favourite though I'd like to see one in the flesh before ordering. Seeing as we're not likely to get out to the field before May between lockdown and waiting for the field to dry out I will wait and see if anything turns up on the second hand sites before rushing out and buying new.
  11. Well done and thanks for your efforts to you and all of the team, I know how stressful this sort of thing can be and how hard to deal with miriad of requests for tweaks.
  12. My gripe with many ARTF's with plug in wing halves and supplied mechanical retracts is that you have to connect and disconnect the servo end plus when transporting and storing you have the exposed pushrod ends just begging to catch on something and bend. You can embed a servo in each wing panel but if you are buying two retract servos you may as well just buy a set of electric retracts. The metal trunnion ones from HK and the like are ok but if you don't mind spending a little more I've found JP units quite good. As for the original question - if I couldn't find 85 degree units at a price I like I'd live with the slight bandy legged look.
  13. Just scale up the distance back from the nose to the marked CofG too! In my experience deltas are fairly tolerant regarding the balance point.
  14. Looks good to me, not too bright and not hard to read though I expect the text colour will vary with individual device colour settings. It's definitely grey text but dark enough on my laptop to avoid eyestrain. I see that annoying league table on top right has gone too, thankyou for that! As for tweaking the brightness on your screen, if other applications are ok then surely there should be no need to adjust it just for this one site?
  15. That's a handy looking trike Andy, the biggest issue for me would be that it's not step-through, or at least sit on and swivel into the driving/riding position. I went to the most local mobility shop yesterday, the Pride GoGo looked good, had reasonable ground clearance, decent sized wheels and was comfortable (for what it is) but being SLA batteries it weighed a ton. They did have one Lithium powered scooter but that weighed about 10kg more than Colin's Li-Tech suggestion. More local dealers to be visited before I flex the plastic!
  16. I've got much the same in a Sukhoi 29 30-E which is a 49" aerobat. Goes quite nicely in that.
  17. If I select all activity and click on a thread I can page backwards and forwards but with Unread Posts paging isn't working, does it depend on how you listed posts maybe?
  18. Unfortunately the original site wasn't working properly, never had been. We just accepted it's many flaws. Give the new site a few days, there are bound to be a few teething troubles and a bit of a learning curve. Less of a learning curve than the old site!
  19. It's just a learning curve. When I first used the old forum I thought it was a complete nightmare too.
  20. That's a neat looking beast, the Li-Tech. I like the idea of all round suspension, my late Dad used to complain about the bumpy ride on the ones he had. 38kg is pretty good for a travel scooter too. Thanks Colin.
  21. Yes, it's probably Windows or a browser in-line spell checker. If I misspell a word I get the red underline, then if I right click I get a list of options to correct it.
  22. I looked at the off-road models via Google, there's some serious gear available but it's over the top for the flying field and would need it's own trailer? Our field isn't too bad, it's fairly level and the grass is kept reasonably short.
  23. I can't be the first modeller to decide it's time to stop fighting my condition and start looking at making life easier by getting a mobility scooter, so does anyone currently use one or have knowledge of folding or portable scooters? Anyone in the trade with the low-down on what's the current best buy, what to look for and what to avoid? My current thinking is that folding scooter appear to lack ground clearance and are generally narrow track and hence slightly less stable. Car boot portable types look to be a little more generously proportioned but how easy are they to strip and reassemble? I assume Lithium power packs would be the natural choice as SLA packs seem to be the heaviest item where they are used. So, who has got the gen.?
  24. Literally NO movement on my projects though I now have all but two models updated to FrSky's v2.10 firmware, a video doorbell installed complete with mains connection, a new dedicated building station upstairs, several wheeliebin loads of tat ejected and a thorough knowledge of daytime tv?
