  1. Royalty dont send you to War, Governments do. And i think you will find you are ulitmately fighting to defend your family !
  2. FWIW, I have attempted to build balsa planes, I presently have a fuselage sitting in the back bedroom, I dont think I get it right, something always seems to be slightly out of kilter. (please don't get asking about baseboards, set squares etc) On the occasion I have tried covering i seem to get more wrinkles than Old Mother Riley (gawd I'm old), and yes practise makes perfect but at what cost. I have made foamboard models one from scratch, also a hovercraft from scratch, used foam board as a skirt as well, and made planes from Flite Test plans. I have to say those do fly well. ARTF is certainly easier and 'bolt together' has its attractions. Some have time to build, others do not, some are skilled some not so. Each to their own is surely the way. I wanted to fly model aircraft and I can, whilst also admiring the attention to detail and craftsmanship which others clearly have. I know that if i asked various club members they would readily assist in my construction skills, right now though I have enough to play with.
  3. Been today (Monday 17th) at a club I have just joined, Goosedale, as ever friendly bunch of blokes. Only had a couple of flights as the sun was coming out and left sunglasses behind. The WOT 4 MkII is a cracker. And the weather looks rubbish till next week doh!
  4. For no real reason I was perusing the situations vacant column and amongst others I noted there were vacancies for Tree Surgeons. It struck there must be a large number of hidden trades we never hear about, I mean you never hear of Tree Anaesthetists ! In a slightly off beat way on seeing Hair Dressers I had the alarm vision of a hair dressed in a kilt and tam o’ shantr …... I guess the 60’s are coming back to haunt me
  5. Not sure if this is the right thread however... Just tried to speak with my local GP and noted change in the usual preamble which has had the following added " please visit your local picket line"
  6. I have two Boomerangs, one converted to electric. I have had no problem with them and in fact used one for my A cert. I think they are super and ideal trainers, along with the ubiquitous WoT 4 Trainer (Uno?) which I also have in both power sources. Regrading u/c problems, nylon bolts will shear before removing fuselage structure. That said if they are subject to severe cold they go brittle and will break quite readily
  7. When I first saw the thread title I was reminded of Honk Johnson, this is a shaggy dog story and requires telling for its full effect. But your right All American hero complete with the looks
  8. I am still only getting the header and footer banner ads and the odd one between messages. No problem going between threads, its the same. No blank spaces either.
  9. Know I appreciate that some of you will be building, repairing, programming and other elements associated with the hobby during the weather restriction. For those not engaged in these worthwhile activities other methods of enjoying the downtime raise their heads. I have recently be introduced to a board game, no sneering please, called Carcassonne. No dice involved and once you master the scoring its quite fun. Strategy can be employed, my eldest granddaughter and grandson both seem to excel in this area, though I believe old age and treachery overcomes youth and enthusiasm. You may have to read the rules several time but it is worth it. Youtube also shows how to play the game.
  10. I am not having any issues on my laptop or mobile...
  11. nope i remember the cut out animal heads, but does anyone remember swoppits?
  12. Im not nor have i suffered with any of this problem
  13. Every print company struggles in todays multimedia world. Advertising is obviously the largest income stream, I dont have a great problem with a few ads. Certainly beats a price increase which would be considerable.
  14. Out today for first time since September and flew Wot4 MK2 for couple of flights superb. And also Wot4 Trainer, took u/c off can only think hit hole in strip, fortunately nylon bolts sheared preventing any damage. Looking forward to getting out there again subject to other half feeling ok and between her chemo dates.
  15. Thanks Jon, you have just given me great business idea if anyone cares to invest. We bottle Thames River water and flog it as brewed tea, just add milk and sugar to taste, or not. Thought of Peckham Spring but think I have seen that used elsewhere, maybe just Thames Tea, obviously have to be taken up stream of parliament due to all the, err dross that comes out of there. Any investors please contact me at All Bull Inc
  16. I have put it all on RED 5 I assume we are all of an age and know what I am on about...
  17. Think my partner and I are in a small group who laways pass our thanks for good service, whether in person or via a companies website. We have received excellent service from Sports Direct to name but one, they tend to get crap reviews. On another occasion my partner was stopped by the trolley lad outside Tesco as she had left the pound in the trolley. On getting home she informed the Tesco management. Next visit the lad comes rushing across the car park to say thanks as the manager had let it him know of her comment and praise. Quite restores ones faith.
  18. Manual pump, align starter (with internal Lipo and charge state gauge) glow stick, job done.
  19. A bit like travelling at the speed of light in a car. If you turned the headlights on would they create a beam???
  20. I think there should be something in the T & C's about this, its pretty shameful. I would like to have more information from P & B via their customer Service Department. |They get a bit fractious when they now they are likely to get their rear exposed to public gaze.
  21. Frank who did you speak to and how, telephone call, in person, e mail. Is it buried somewhere in the x amount of pages of gobbledekook that are Terms and Conditions. I wonder what if any Customs laws are applied
