David Ashby - Moderator
I was thinking about Graupner''s Terry and the two examples on the home pafe article (link above) and wondered if there are any other strange or memorable model names you've seen? Drop a post if you can think of any....... Terry Walters
I have just 'retired' my Graupner Terry S I bought it for 2 reasons - 1)my name is Terry and 2). a certain Mr Ashby reviewed it and told me to buy one so that was that!. I just added an apostrophe between the y and the S!! and it became Terry's! Very memorable TW

001
That's what you get when you try to fly it through a wire netting fence. I have always thought that 'Osmose' was a bit strange. 'Flasher' is just rude.
Mowerman
Bugly Ugger - July 2004 RCM&E free plan. Not forgetting the Keil Kraft 'Anzak' of the mid fifties, Hurriedly re-named after complaints from 'down under' as Anzak is the name of the memorial day for Australian and New Zealand war dead. Can't remember what its new name was.Edited By Mowerman on 23/02/2011 11:33:
Jonathan Lewzey
Seem to remember a jp moderately aerobatic model called 'cleverboy' i mean what were they thinking there?! Adam Lomax
most modern f3a planes have very wierd names now. Xigris and Axiome to name a few
Allan Bowker
My son always finds 'Fokker' amusing, however I always thought a plane called 'Clouds Fly' a bit strange. Seems that names are lost in translation, especially when named in the far east.

Andy Butler
I had a kit built Graupner glider called a Soft Fly. I still have a New Timer and my first trainer was a Canary. In my slope soaring days I had a Pedro and that flew so badly it was called lots of names Andy
Vecchio Austriaco
I leared to fly with an Airfish - And I actually managed it one time to land it in the slow moving waters of a stream near Vienna. Could swim like a fish too.

Martin Harris - Moderator
My first (successful) trainer was called a Lumpers - no idea where the name came from but apparently it was designed by someone flying in East African scrubland to be almost unbreakable. Mine, covered in Nylon, proved the point on many occasions!

Plummet
I always thought "Bird of Time" was an odd name. Cess? Na! 001
I don't know if anyone remembers Svenson kits? In the 80's there was a dealer at the Sandown Show selling off Svenson balsa builders kits at ridiculously cheap prices. I bought a Windy and a Prima at £15 each. The Prima especially, was a very good 4 channel plane for a 0.20 engine, I think. Good names, but Svenson also made others called:- Wind Puff Twinny Flappy Channy And, believe it or not. (I like this). EYEBALL!
