60/40 solder is generally available at most diy or eltrical stores for home use and repairs . The new regs only apply to the manufactureres of electrical goods . maplins should sell it no problem . I bought a couple of large rolls when the new regs were in the press as they read or implied that ALL solder was affected . Now I probably have a lifetimes supplysmiley.

Ah...Maplins......Bless!!!

I think the directive to ban lead in solder was more aimed at large operations using wave solder techniques rather than a few blokes soldering in sheds....wink 2

60/40 Solder is still widely available...my link above to CPC still works.....they are in fact part of Farnell & are offering free delivery.....go figure as they say......if you visit the CPC site you can stock up on heatshrink, cable ties etc etc....have a good look around before you hit the "Confirm Order" button ...thumbs up
