McG 6969
Thanks, John. ... Ade's 'octopi', now John S's dog... ??? ... I could have thought of it... but unfortunately, Gaston is somewhere on a tropical beach with his 'fiancée' Mademoiselle Jeanne... too bad for me... John Privett
Here is the league table as it stands this evening; Pos Gain/Loss Team Manager Pts 1 - Team Charles Picd Charles Pic 848 2 - Revers Racing Pete B 837 3 + 3 2020 Vision johnpflyrc 797 4 - PSS Power Flyer 796 5 - 2 Crashtestdummies Brake Test 791 6 + 3 GASTON Formula Chris McG 788 7 + 1 Essex Racing Tony Clark 773 8 - 3 Torque of the devil Stu 770 9 - 2 Roos Racers rk295 766 10 - Pitts Specials john stones 761 11 - Iqonic racing iqon 699 12 - Norfolk Flyers Kevin Fairgrieve 677 13 - Flying Eagles Gary Goodfellow 639 14 + 2 The improved Webby Racing team Simon Webb 541 15 - 1 teewrex John Tee 537 16 - 1 AeroArrows Bondaero 487 No change in the top two, with Charles extending his lead over Pete, but only by 2 points. I bounce back up 3 places to 3rd, but am only a single point ahead of 4th-placed Flyer, and Don drops 2 places to 5th, but only 5 points behind 4th. Chris is another who moves up 3 places today, now up to 6th, with Tony moving up one place to 7th. Stu slips 3 places though, and is now 8th, with Robin also moving down, 2 places down for him, to 9th. No more place changes until we get to the bottom 3 where Simon's 2nd place today has taken him up above both John Tee and Bondaero. No race next weekend, we're back at the end of August in Spa for the Belgian Grand Prix. Don't forget your predictions!
john stones 1 - Moderator
Well what can I say, Sonny (the dog) got 5 predictions correct, he's been gloating all afternoon, looks like I'll be fetching the stick on walkies for a while. Charles Pic
183 points is pretty special, nice one Chris McG! I benefitted from having Verstappen in my team - without him my score would’ve been dire. Will be great if Red Bull can rapidly develop that car and bring a proper VER vs. HAM title fight to our screens!
McG 6969
Thank you, Charles. Having no octopus and no dog, I managed to have a Zoom video-conference with Gaston. He's somewhere on the West coast of Costa Rica, having some holidays with his fiancée. In fact, Marie-Jeanne was very helpful as she brought a totally different approach to my team and predictions... Regarding that VER vs HAM fight, it might be of help when Merc cannot use their 'party mode' in quali anymore. As it is supposed to be prohibited starting next race, we'll know within two weeks at Francorchamps... Cheers Chris

I found it a little bit worrying that Martin Brundle mentioned during the Sky commentary that Mercedes at least said they didn't use the party mode for quali on Saturday! I guess we find out if that is true in two weeks r
John Privett
Right then! Pay attention, we've had a weekend off and are now at the start of another Grand Prix weekend - this time in Spa for the Belgian GP. So... Don't forget your predictions! What should we make of the P1 and P2 times? I'm not sure! In P1 Mercedes took the top 2 places, though not too far ahead of Verstappen. And Ferrari were way down the field... P2 saw the top 3 again separated by under a tenth of a second, but with Verstappen on top and Ricciardo 2nd. Well, I'm off to do my predictions now, and be ready to change them if P3 produces anything significant... Times are the usual 2pm for qualifying and 2:10 for the race, with P3 tomorrow at 11:00 - noon. (All UK times.) John Privett
It looks like the channel 4 coverage has got to the end of the race, so here are our scores from today; Pos Team Manager Pts 1 Roos Racers rk295 188 2 Revers Racing Pete B 176 3 Flying Eagles Gary Goodfellow 162 4 Crashtestdummies Brake Test 162 5 2020 Vision johnpflyrc 159 6 Iqonic racing iqon 145 7 GASTON Formula Chris McG 142 8 Essex Racing Tony Clark 140 9 Pitts Specials john stones 137 10 Torque of the devil Stu 134 11 PSS Power Flyer 130 12 The improved Webby Racing team Simon Webb 126 13 Norfolk Flyers Kevin Fairgrieve 120 14 Team Charles Picd Charles Pic 112 15 teewrex John Tee 86 16 AeroArrows Bondaero 71 Top score today is 188 from Robin - well done, the top score overall today was 220. Second was Pete with 176 and third was Gary with 162. So how does that affect the overall table this evening? That's up next...
John Privett
Here is the table after Belgium, and it looks like we have a change at the top; Pos Gain/Loss Team Manager Pts 1 +1 Revers Racing Pete B 1013 2 -1 Team Charles Picd Charles Pic 960 3 - 2020 Vision johnpflyrc 956 4 +5 Roos Racers rk295 954 5 - Crashtestdummies Brake Test 953 6 - GASTON Formula Chris McG 930 7 -3 PSS Power Flyer 926 8 -1 Essex Racing Tony Clark 913 9 -1 Torque of the devil Stu 904 10 - Pitts Specials john stones 898 11 - Iqonic racing iqon 844 12 +1 Flying Eagles Gary Goodfellow 801 13 -1 Norfolk Flyers Kevin Fairgrieve 797 14 - The improved Webby Racing team Simon Webb 667 15 - teewrex John Tee 623 16 - AeroArrows Bondaero 558 And indeed, Pete's second place in today's results is enough to move him up to the top of the table, pushing Charles down to second. I remain in third and Robin's top place today gives him a gain of FIVE places today, up to fourth. No changes then until we get to Flyer, down three places to 7th and then a place swap between Tony and Stu, with Tony now taking 8th and Stu 9th. There's another place swap with Gary grabbing 12th place from Kev - but with only 4 points separating them. Next weekend it's Monza - Don't forget your predictions! McG 6969
... well done, Pete. ... Erfolg
It seems a very sad chapter has just been finished for Williams, with the Williams family withdrawing from the team. It just further confirms that only Mercedes has the resources to almost guarantee race wins, at every event. Another nail in the proverbial coffin in declining interest in F!. John Privett
Right then, whatever the situation at Williams, it's another grand prix weekend and time for the customary reminder; Don't forget your predictions! Mercedes have taken 1-2 in both P1 and P2, with P1 headed by Valtteri and P2 by Lewis. Ferrari, on home ground at Monza, are - as anticipated - well down the list. It's the usual Euro times for the weekend with P3 at 11am tomorrow and qualifying at 2pm, and the race at 2:10pm on Sunday.
