Ben H
Great colour scheme John! It'd almost match my Extra with the orange and dark blue, although mine is more a purple than blue.... You shouldn't have any bother picking it out in a crowd!

Actually they both do the same job. Actualy, before they all jump pn me, that isn't really true. The artificial horizon shows the attitude in relation to the horizon The turn and bank shows the you are making the turn without side slipping Edited By Peter Miller on 25/02/2016 19:31:24 Before they all jump on me they wouldn't do that would they John

john stones 1 - Moderator
Cowl still has a few blemishes, but time to get the plug out and reinforce inside. John
john stones 1 - Moderator
Dug foam out with a knife, took a couple of minutes, one or two soft spots but easy sorted. Thanks for the lesson Chris John
Chris Barlow
That cowl looks stunning for a first attempt John! Very impressive. My first attempt years ago was so lumpy a belt sander would have struggled it get it smooth! I actually enjoy melting the foam out! Maybe it's the kid in me just messing about! lol
john stones 1 - Moderator
Cheers Chris My first attempt at scallops, I do not enjoy stuff like this, I found it a real struggle, the picture flatters it and colour is more like the first picture than one with flash on. Chris Barlow
I think the reds of the sofa and wall are throwing the colour balance out. Try throwing a white or light grey sheet over the sofa so that the camera has something to measure other than reds. Or take it out into daylight for a photo. Did you try to follow the ribs with the scallops? They look quite small. It's never easy trying something new, very much like building a model for the first time. But this is the mass build and we're all beginners at something.

john stones 1 - Moderator
Same amount of scallops as ribs Chris, and yes they look small I couldn't find owt to cut around to get em deeper, just the cowl holding it up now Gary. john stones 1 - Moderator
Done the other panel, scratching me head for what else to put on, model could be ready for weekend but grass is too long at field, so on hold unless we can get garden mowers on. John Pin stripes behind the scallops? (even I wouldn't fancy trying that. ) Mine is now dirty with sheep pooh and mud, but worth it!
Bob Cotsford
John, are you adding scallops to the tailplane and fin to balance it up?

john stones 1 - Moderator
No pictures for you but u/c is on and tailwheel, servos fitted, cowl reinforced inside, and a little more decorating done plus coaming around cockpit and Sveta's sat waiting for test fly, just motor to mount up on standoffs now. Colin Leighfield
If I wasn't bogged down with projects that I've got to finish I'd have loved to have built one of these. That looks really nice John, a very pretty plane and guaranteed to fly well.
john stones 1 - Moderator
It's a model that would suit lots of people Colin, and it'll also make a good intro model as a first low winger. And I may even finish a build for a change john
Chris Barlow
Yep, almost there John. Just fitting out and setting up now. I really do like that orange tango tangerine Jacinth and blue scheme!
