propstar
Hi every one,I have a Dx7 which has been working fine until the battery ran out (Tx accidentaly left switched on) the battery is now refusing to charge. Purchased a new battery but my tranny will not show any display in the window when turned on, however the bind test/range check button on the back is flashing green. Flying Squirrel
Not my personal experience but just read this on another forum from someone with the same issue Quote "If you remove the battery with the main switch in the on position the TX loses its flash memory and has to be re-set by Horizon"
kc
Welcome to the forum Propstar, there is probably someone on the forum who knows whether there is some way to reset this yourself.

Kevin Fairgrieve
I had to replace a fuse in mine, many years ago. It is the "original" DX7 we are talking about. If so that could be the reason. Youtube Video. Edited August 17, 2022 by Kevin Fairgrieve
propstar
yes Kevin, the original DX7, where would i find the fuse? the old girl has done good up to now.

EarlyBird
BTW in Kevin's post this is a link to the same video. I know the normal convention is for links to be highlighted with blue writing, why this forum uses the underline has always puzzled me. The old way was to use the link icon dialogue. I find the process easier and better to simple paste the copied address directly into the text editor, which is what I did above, then it's obvious it's a video link. Just trying to help with using the forum. Steve
propstar
Sorry, missed the underlined bit-must say i always look for blue.

Alan Gorham_
I'd love to know how the OP would be able to follow those instructions bearing in mind he can't read the LCD display on his transmitter...

Hmmm good point. Maybe ignore my advise as I clearly know diddly.🤣
kc
Well maybe the screen would light up during the first step .......... worth a try if the Tx is useless otherwise? If it doesnt work then one would have to send it back to Horizon or scrap it!
Chris Walby
If in doubt give John Norris a call at Logic RC a phone call, free advice or return it to Logic RC (him) as the Spektrum UK service agent. No connection, but a happy customer over the last few years (mostly when I break things).
propstar
have spoken to John Norris and the problem is terminal as the parts are no longer gettable. so I'll call it a day and many thanks for all of the help.
RottenRow
Just a thought…. on some industrial equipment that I repair, a dead internal battery causes the LCD display contrast to go to minumum, giving a blank screen. Usually I can just make out the display by viewing in a dark room, or by viewing from a certain angle. Perhaps your tx will be similar. If you have, or can download, a copy of the user manual, it will probably describe how to adjust the display contrast. You may have to count a number of button presses if you can’t make out the display at all. Worth trying before you give up on it. Brian. Dale Bradly
I had a DX7 which had the voltage reg fail. Easily swapped for an aftermarket one (like this http://www.dimensionengineering.com/appnotes/spektrum_mod/) and bought it back to life. Worth seeing if this is your issue, and assuming you have access to appropriate soldering skill, an easy job.
