Ron Gray
The flight area is big so as Payneib we shouldn’t have an issue. I’ve flown there a few times, each with the wind in different directions and it’s not been an issue. The other great thing about Bucko is that if it’s not flying weather there is the Goldsmith Hangar where we can all congregate for a group hug chat over drinks from the cafe. It’s the final countdown - 4 days to go….
Nick Cripps
Ron, do you know if there's any overnight storage available for models?
Geoff S
I won't be flying (very out of practice) but I may attend on one of the days especially if SLEC will be there as I find myself a little short of balsa for my J60 build. It's a 100 mile round trip - at least it is if I don't inadvertently end up on the M1 at what used to be the simple A6 junction near Kegworth. That happened when we went to watch the scale nationals a week ago and added a few miles to the trip 🙂.

That's the attitude Geoff, doesn't matter if you're not flying, come along and join in the fun anyway.
David P Williams
Like Geoff, I'll be there on the Saturday but not flying. Visiting family in Peterborough and the car will be full of stuff.
Chris Walby
Just to add to Ron's comment, the more the merrier as we will need spotters/helpers on the flight line and although I have two of man's best friend they don't qualify as helpers! Lipo Man
I’m thinking of bringing something new with me. Only barrier is I haven’t started designing or building it yet. If I get round to it it’ll be “quite basic”. 🤣
martin collins 1
SKYWAY MODELS Hawk 70 kits will be available at Buckminster this weekend, Masons Models who are producing these kits is my local model shop and i am bringing a few Hawk 70 kits with me. Many will remember the original Plan Pack Skyway kits, these new ones from Steve Mason have all the pre cut wood included, requiring just the smaller hardware, wheels, tank etc to be sourced to suit the builder. Steve can offer these but the bits can also be sourced from SLEC at the weekend or your local model shop. This is a Best of British weekend at Buckminster, why not buy one of these British made kits, they are a well proven design that look like a 1940`s Miles Magister type aircraft, the Skyways Hawks are well known for their great flying characteristics. Pick one up from me at Buckminster and save yourself the postage cost, i have no financial interest in these kits, just helping out a British kit manufacturer who is local to me, price for the kits is £209 at Buckminster. Here is the link to the Hawk 70 information:- https://masonsmodels.co.uk/product/skyway-models-hawk-70/

If you have emailed Inwoods (Dave or Nick) then they will most likely bring some (they had some at Much Marcle) and may well email you in the next day or so to confirm. Alternatively Southern Modelcraft will be there with Laser low oil (they sold out on both days at Old Warden, so perhaps don't leave it until last thing in the day). John S the cafe is open as per BMFA web site:

Nick Somerville
“Anyone coming to the show that can bring 5L of Model Technics Laser 5 Low oil Laser fuel with them” I have enough in stock Martin so could bring 5l for you. Not coming until Saturday morning as Friday weather looks poor.

They confirmed my request and I replied on your behalf asking for what you wanted (but have not heard back). At worst we can help them unload their van when they arrive. richard dalgleish
Do we need to pre book to fly or just turn up on the day? I was going to come on Friday, but looks like Saturday now. Edited September 25 by richard dalgleish
Ron Gray
Just turn up and pay in reception. Friday isn’t looking too good but we might get some flying in the afternoon, however it will be a good opportunity for us to gather in the hangar and have a bit of a chat even if the weather is poor. Saturday and Sunday are looking good. There will be a pilot’s briefing each day at 10am just to go through some of the finer details of ‘no go’ zones and to get some idea of numbers flying. Ideally It would be nice to have some fly byes of same manufacture models such as Foss, Reeves, WR but it is not cast in stone and will largely be the pilot’s choice.

Nick Somerville
Ha ha Ron, am bringing my Fw 190 on Saturday as it has lasercut parts, balsa and paint supplied by uk companies 😀.
Tim Flyer
I will be going on Saturday rather than Friday as the weather looks better then. I will have my Apache/SLEC Chipmunk (Laser 180) as in my forum picture, and my Galaxy Mystic (OS120) … I could bring my Acrowot XL but I prefer the Mystic and I think it still counts as British I think despite its engine. I am really looking forward to meeting other forum members and fellow Laser owners. It’s also great the traders are also going too so I will have space for some shopping too! I'm aiming for Saturday, too. We're 50 miles away by road, less as the crow flies (WNW roughly) so the weather at home isn't likely to be much different so I'll make a suitable judgement. I admit SLEC's attendance is a big draw as it saves postage (though not fuel 🙂 )
