  1. Instead of spoiling the beautiful lines of the model I would fit an electric motor! Only kidding, enjoy the build!
  2. Could you not get prospective new forumites to answer a simple question before being allowed to make their first post, it might cut down on the increasing number of bots asking nonsense questions?
  3. I like the new paper, it's much easier to read. I keep thinking of cancelling it though as reviews of artf's are not very interesting. I love Shaun Garrity's column though. I subscribe to digital + print but I don't like reading mags online but I like the digital archive.
  4. On my MPX foamies I just glue the magnets in with regular cyano and they stay in unlike the MPX canopy catches
  5. I used the Lemon stabilised receivers they work with Spectrum and Edge Tx. Excellent receivers and the stabilisation works really well. At £40 for a 10 channel Rx cheap too. Reliable too
  6. I'm having no issues today but sometimes it's very slow for me
  7. I've managed to break nylon undercarriage bolts through a rough landing and hitting a rut, the bolt stub is easy to get out. The result is an unbroken fuselage.
  8. I would glue the broken piece back in and changed to plastic bolts. The bolts should break before the wood does, hopefully.
  9. I think Rotten Row has the right idea, ask a simple question if they don't come back with a sensible answer then they go away, hopefully.
  10. and all this discussion on crystals was started on Tuesday by "Phil Lacey" who was desperate for some dual conversion crystals. He was as so desperate he's not been heard of since, probably a bot anyway. Apologies Phil if you're real
  11. Could you not prevent new members from digging up old threads until they have posted in the new members thread? It might stop the bots posting.
  12. I find it strange that a well built kit with engine and radio will sell for less than an unbuilt kit and as Eric says people will pay hundreds for a foamy.
  13. My cheap B&Q plasterboard never crumbles either and it taken thousands of pin holes and like KC I put screws in it sometimes too. Some of my small boards I use for fins and tailplanes have no backing board, in small pieces it's rigid enough as is.
  14. Contact the nice people at Hobby RC they are the UK service agents
  15. Very nice! Living in the flatlands of Cambridgeshire though I need something with a motor in the front, will that be an option?

  17. This is from the BMFA Handbook and I quote "3.15 Mobile Phones Although mobile telephones operate on frequencies far removed from our model control frequency bands they are a major addition to the increasing background radio ‘noise’ that our equipment has to filter out. In addition, there is some evidence that there may sometimes be an interaction between mobile ‘phones and microprocessor controlled transmitters. Many mobile ‘phones transmit powerful signals regularly even when on standby and BMFA recommends that they are not taken into the pits area and especially not on to the flying area. Many ‘phones also emit a powerful signal pulse when switching off, which is also something you may have to consider. Your radio equipment has a hard job to do filtering out background RF radiation and you could make it much worse with your mobile ‘phone." Very vague and based on some reported interference many years ago and I believe only effected one make of RC. I have no problems of my mobile near my transmitter but we have a club rule forbidding phones on the flight line but often I do forget and leave my phone in my pocket.
  18. So would telephone interference be selective enough just to open the throttle on two different set ups?
  19. I used the backing film from Solarfilm and the like. When I'm covering a model I just stash it away in a box. I built a SLEC Coyote a couple of years ago and with the kit they supply a large amount of thin polythene, enough to place over several plans, it should last for years.
  20. Rocker asked exactly the same question a few days ago.
  21. I use plastic bolts to hold my undercarriage on wot4 and similar type models, if I have a rough landing the bolts break and leave the model (almost) intact
