It’s clearly a Riot just re decaled ! It’s a very long lasting design. Testament to the overall design !!!✅✅Colin -
Things Aren't What They Used to Be - Fortunately!

I was taught how to get a Mini replacement bypass hose on with the end of 2 teaspoons !!😂😂😂Bent to hell when done. Mum never noticed her spoon stock diminishing !😳😳😳😂😂😂Colin -
Undercart a known problem with Sebbies. Anyone seen this problem tho ?? Shark had the fibre mount disintegrate in the air and I landed with tho motor hanging out by the wires ! Angel 50 landed and as it stopped same thing happened and motor flew out. Sukhoi 30 started making strange noise as throttled back. Full power ok. Got it down and motor seemed loose. Home and pull apart and the fibre mount disintegrated around all 8 holes ! Angel wasn’t mine and the Shark had little time on it. Is this a common problem I wonder ????

I’ve had 2 Angel 30s 💥💥☹️☹️and both had a light plastic bulkhead glued just behind the cockpit rear. No problems. My Miss Wind has nothing (just checked ). Again no heat problems. Hope this helps ! Colin

Allegiance to the likes of Trump , Nixon , Sarkozy , Putin ??? Certainly not ! Much prefer allegiance to the Crown thanks !

Plus 1 for any Sebbie. Angel is a delight. Colin

I have one and it flys well. Paint comes off when you look at it. I’ve used Tamiya acrylic and found that came off as well. I think the Multiplex cans are a better chance , especially if primer is used. Expensive!!! Colin

Vailly FW 190 1/4.5 (Nick Somerville)
Colin Carpenter replied to Nick Somerville's topic in Scale Matters
That’s above and beyond, Nick !! 😇😇😇Colin -
How used is the model ? The foam trapping the motor mount compresses as it ages and movement of the motor can make you think the radio is playing up. Gorilla glue helps but eventually it cannot be repaired any longer. Just my experience of a lovely flying aircraft. Coli

I remember taking out the engine , then splitting gearbox because 8168PK , Mini Traveller , jumped out of first gear with a lot of force. Repaired , re installed no problems. Drove it up the road and it wouldn’t stay in top. Luckily , I could trap the lever behind my knee. Drove it for 2 years like that. 😂😂Sold it for a tenner. Colin -

Spring is here again - who's been flying?
Colin Carpenter replied to GrumpyGnome's topic in Flying Field Reports and Chat
I flew my Sebart SBach yesterday at 9 in 10 mph plus gusts east wind. Not enjoyable really. Bitterly cold and grey as hell. Stopped after 3 lipos. Had full winter clothing on. Other club mate wouldn’t try flying. Sun appeared when I got home. ????Colin -
Help with model identification
Colin Carpenter replied to Jeffrey Cottrell 2's topic in All Things Model Flying
Yes Hobbyking SBach. I’ve had one and found ,set up correctly, it flew almost as good as a Sebbie !! Changed uc for a Riot one as sprung steel one couldn’t cope on our grass. Original esc gave up on flight 50. No damage. Nice plane. Colin -
Love an F3A pattern ship myself ! It’s like looking at page 3 in the ? 50 yrs ago !! ???Colin

Blimey. Yes ur a bit exposed there. Elvid’s Mrs , Leah , died a while ago. Moved from St Nicolas to Trelettert . She’s got a few cousins left down there. We go on hols every so often to revisit her childhood ! It’s a lovely place. Regards. Colin. Apologies to forumites !??

Sorry John. Stupid question. Just re read post earlier. Colin
-
Hi John. JD8. Thanks for the remarks. My Mrs gran lived in Mathry , house called Pen y Rath behind Abermawr . She spent her school holidays down there and Elvid took her out on his motorbike ! She remembers watching him labouring under those coal sacks. She asks are you still local to Pembrokeshire?? Regards Colin
-
My wife’s Uncle Elvid delivered the coal to Strumble Head light. Very hard work and he was no youngster. Off topic I know ! ???

Many years ago when DSM2 was in popular use , unexplained motor off , and dives into the ground were frequent. DSMX has stopped that where I fly . Yes , too many RF board failures on DX8 ! Now a lot of us use the new aerialless Rx and not seen any problems at all. Still odd Lemon unexplained failures though. Just my observations ! ?Colin

When I was a lad playing on bomb sites in the Smoke , bombed houses were our favourite. Once a first floor collapsed as I walked over it and I landed on my feet with a 6 inch nail through my Clark’s sandal ! Pulled it out and went home to mum who disinfected it , plaster each side , back out to play ! Elf and safety- no way ! Fond memories! Colin

Google Lemon Rx and you will find instructions online ! I’ve set up a few but can’t recall without help from tinternet!

Winter is here....who's been flying?
Colin Carpenter replied to Chris Walby's topic in Flying Field Reports and Chat
Plus 1 for flying at 9. Wind generally non existent and sun behind flyers ! Don’t mind cold - better than sweating in full sun. But that’s just me ! ??
