  1. I used to do plenty instructing, and would own up to disliking the black button trainer method on the Futaba 6EX ? sets, been guilty of failing to hold down firmly at times, much preferred the spring loaded switch, a range check wouldn't highlight it, but a chat with instructor wouldn't hurt.
  2. That was worthy of a final, and may well be, no guarantee result would be the same though, well refed as well.
  3. What does instructor do to give control to student, button pressed or switch held ? It is not unheard of for instructor to relax finger/thumb pressure and student to have nowt.
  4. Georgia v Portugal. Enjoyable watch. England v Chile. Not getting overexcited but enjoyed it. South Africa v Ireland. Preview of the final. 😉
  5. If you put a bolt through it's neck, don't forget the threadlock Toto. 😉
  6. Gravy train is most consistent train we have. 😉
  7. Proper debate ? Good luck with that Z, this ones a biggie n has massive impact on lives and requires joined up thinking, cooperation on a massive scale, best we'll get is a catchy slogan. On a Lecky bus maybe.
  8. As I said Ron, I am not anti E.V, quotas are numbers, they get set for a variety of things, waiting lists, surgery, women being paid the same as men. 69 years on the planets taught me to mistrust the sellers vision as being optimistic, quotas/rules change all the time to suit agendas and occasionally, facts.
  9. Does the cheaper electricity used to charge at night, cost less to produce ?
  10. No skin in this one, but...Rishis only done the first kick of the can, be more to follow and not a Cat in hells chance of being delivered on time, whatever on time means today.
  11. "Fall of a cliff" A term that implies, don't use, if you're daft enough to push your battery of any sort into the realms of oo'er, over the cliff is likely. If you've a modicum of common sense you'll be fine.
  12. CoC is fit for purpose for me, we have the odd blip, it's a forum. 🙂
  13. Maybe next time they'll do a range check before flying.
  14. Run it however you choose Toto, your hobby, your choice, Wormates make good test stands.
  15. I didn't quote nor aim my comment at you Aidan, it's a recurring theme when engines get discussed, read through and see for yourself. You want to learn something, get in there, no need to annoy the neighbours, take it to the field and spend some time listening to what the engine tells you.
  16. I'm gonna disagree, go fiddle with the main needle, how else will you learn how to tune one ? How will you recognize the change in tone when it's on song unless you experience it for yourself, set it rich and see what that does to the throttling/rpm, tweak it back in bit by bit and listen to the tone change and throttling improve, get your hands mucky, there's no substitute for it.
  17. Good routine, restrained well, work area tidy, calm approach, they ain't as hard to use as it may seem, but bite if provoked.
  18. Easiest way to get hurt is complacency, next is being timid with it. Leave Smithy be whilst learning. 😉
  19. I knew zero when I started Toto, I followed the manual and learned as I went along.
  20. Fitting an RX into a small airframe, makes it nigh on impossible to find the perfect place, facing a different way at a different height makes it certain something will always be "in the way". Given you've had some issues and confidence is low, you can look for problems that aren't really there. If I were you, next step would be to run the engine myself, learn how to set it up and get independent of others.
