Have done it and used fuel in the club trainer without any issues. The only comment I would think is not to mix any fuel with a castor content.

I also had a similar problem with the gimbals on my dx9, logic fitted new ones at a very reasonable cost and quick time. Occasionally they do pop up for sale in e bay.

Sorry a bit of a dramatic tittle, but mainly seaking advice. This weekend we managed to get a bit of flying in and got onto the subject of Lipo fires as a couple of our members had close calls with Lipo s catching fire resulting in visits from the fire brigade. I charge my lipos in my shed and also have an electric bike that is charged in a separate garage. The conversation made me think of fire alarms as both venues are remote from the house. Amazon has some alarms that are wirelessly linked to a phone app. Has anybody any experience of these or advice on the best approach. Needless to say my lipos are charged in a bag and stored in an ammunition container.

That's quite a saving, if you use Richard's 4:1 ratio it's about 13oz or 370 grms ie the weight of a lipo. If my thinking is correct of course!

Hi Richard. Thanks for the thoughts on the Mossie kit. Does that mean that it's getting near to completion? I built the Brian Taylor Mossie with a pair of OS70 unfortunately it met its end after one engine cut following a low pass! Hopefully this is not likely to occur with an electric set up. My bench is cleared ready for action.

I have used riolettcustomaerosols 2k acrylic spray cans. They come as 400 ml cans with a twist capsule in the base for the hardener either as clear gloss or Matt or in any colour you need. The downside is that they can only be used for 12 hr's before it sets in the can, although I've heard putting them in the fridge extends the life. I've had no paint issues and use 10% nitro in my four strokes.

Thanks Paul That's just the thing we are looking for, we do not need rain, humidity and other measurements just wind speed and direction. I try to source it from the uk.

Our club weather station has finally given up. We are looking for a replacement. It will need to communicate via 4g as internet connection not available. Internet search indicates they are about £500-£600,but an internet connected station is about half this price so the 4g seems to be quite expensive. Has anybody any ideas or already use a station that they could recommend?

Thanks Richard, looking forward to getting my hands on the Mossie and hopefully attending the fly in next year. It was also good to read your narrative and background to your business long may it continue so we can all benefit from building and sharing the experiences.

I don't think it's to do with the transmitter, I've reversed the action but the result is the same. The controller goes to one end and will not reverse. With the motor on its is one it will run in either direction from the tx signal.
-
I have several sets of servoless retracts of various makes but all look similar when stripped down. The fault with them is that the motor sends the retract to one end switches off then will not reverse. The motor will run in either direction on its own when signalled from the tx but as soon as it's assembled it runs to one end again. Anybody got any fixes???

Great to see progress and looking so good. Thanks for your hard work.

Thanks for the update. I'll keep the bench clear unless I get some serious repairs!😇
-
Just a gentle hint! 😇My repairs and maintenance is up to date, my bench is empty looking for a winter build. Is the mossie likely to be in Santa's sack? 🤗

I have this engine in a corsair and noticed end float when hot, it also had a bit of a whine. It would run well and tick over ok but I changed both bearings. The rear bearing felt a bit rough. The end float has gone so I would change them, maybe you also need to tune the slow running screw as well.

The threads in the cylinder head of one of my much run OS 70 are showing signs of wear, is there a fixative like thread lock that is suitable for high temps
-
Well done Richard, that looks superb can't wait to get my hands on the kit. I can't make Buckminster as it's a bit too far for a day trip but hope you all have a good time.

I've just caught back up with this thread after a couple of weeks, if my hopefullness is correct do I detect that a mosquito might be in the pipeline?? If so put me on the list and thanks Richard. Looking forward to building jet another excellent kit.

I have a battery heated gillet that I wear under a boiler suit in the coldest days. I doesn't get hot but just keeps the chill off on the lower setting and will last most of the day. The most difficulty is keeping fingers warm and mobil.

NX series telemetry alerts on a switch not a timer
Glenn Philbrick replied to Brian Dorricott 1's topic in Spektrum/JR
I have recently installed a lemon rx in glider and am also using nx transmitter so interested as to how to switch the telemetry in and off by a switch. As although it useful it drives others on the flight line nuts! -
Let's mention the mosquito!😎 Come on Richard you know you want to really
-
This might be if you have stability selected, some spektrum receivers do the same.
-
Thanks Brian That looks to be what I'm looking for.

Thanks for the replies, it is the adapter plate I'm looking for. The one shown is for flightless what I'm after is one to take jst xh connectors.
-
I've been given an e station bc 8 charger, but cannot find anywhere in the UK to get a jst xh adapter to take 8 s batteries. Any I ideas??
