Craig Ward
Here's my scheme. Edited By Craig Ward on 16/03/2013 12:43:
Tony Nijhuis
Well I made a start today on the model and only got as far as making the fuselage side before I realised all the routed parts were oversized and mis-shapen. Seems like the CNC had thrown a wobbler, so all has to be cut again.
Tony Nijhuis
So new cnc parts arrived and still a few problems with the routed part but decided to crack on regardless so here's a couple of days work so far.....and yes its a B Also trying a steerable electric nose retract for the tail wheel....should be interesting! Concorde Speedbird
It looks good. The outline looks correct to me (although I prefer be a D/K!). Tail wheel looks fun, will you do the doors? Keep up the good work. CS

Philkiteflyer
Posted by Colin Leighfield on 10/02/2013 09:19:45: Don't worry, you're not alone. I'm still trying to finish one I started in 1986. Ha, I can beat that. I started building a DC3 C/L in 1978. It's still only half built. Tony, nice to see whats coming, though I'm not a big mustang fan, I AM going to build your FW190, one of my all time favourites. Since coming back to modelling 5 years ago (16 years away 'cos of kids) I am now very keen to use electric power ALL the time (except my gliders of course ). The Vulcan is just ahead of the FW190 on my favourites list so I will be watching yours with lots of interest, maybe I could go edf on the small one?? I know it won't sound right, but I'm sure it'll look right. Keep on building, Phillip C Edited By Philkiteflyer on 01/04/2013 01:36:
Concorde Speedbird
Posted by Philkiteflyer on 01/04/2013 01:30 I am now very keen to use electric power ALL the time (except my gliders of course ). May I ask why ALL of the time? Glad there is a D version too. CS
Steve_Wright
I do have an urge to build an RAF B, will there be a Malcolm hood available?
Tony Nijhuis
Well the balsa bashing is finally done and she's not looking too shabby!!!!
Piers Bowlan
That's great Tony, very nice indeed. And even more exciting for me is sight of the long awaited Vulcan in the background. Which version of your Vulcan is that?
Danny Fenton
That does indeed look nice Tony, far from shabby
Alan Wood
Is that a vulcan!
Steve_Wright
right, one has found a subject to build...... Edited By Steve_Wright on 22/04/2013 10:52:
Tony Nijhuis
Typical....I though the Vulcan would steal the picture so heres a couple of photos. Three versions of the B2 (mk2) are almost finished, 49" for 69mm fans, a 74" for 90mm fans and a 98" single turbine version (in the picture) Next you'll be asking is whats under the grey cover.....and no its not my store of balsa or the 2014 RCM&E special
Concorde Speedbird
The Vulcan is lovely, I'd love to see someone build VX770 (the first one) though. Mustang looks good too, how about Concorde?! CS
Craig Ward
Given how the magazine plans always seem to have errors in the, I'll wait and order the plan for this, the Hurri, the 62" Spitty , the Tiffie and the 190 at the same time, to save shipping over to the colonies! Danny Fenton
Those retracts look interesting Tony, are they leccy, air or hydraulic? Interested to see how have you approached the Mustang retrcacts. They are positioned, on the full size, very close to the leading edge of what is a thin wing. Cheers Danny
Alan Wood
I need that vulcan, I'll never get around to building it but I want it! I still haven't finished that lancaster yet tony and I think I was one of the first to get a plan pack lol.
Alan Wood
Re-Post, doh! Edited By Alan Wood on 23/04/2013 10:53:
Piers Bowlan
Tony, the 98" span Vulcan would be too big for my little Wren 44, so what to do? Scale it down to 72" say or buy a bigger engine? Those fine looking retracts would be good for a TSR2 too. Perhaps your next project?
