Kevin Fairgrieve
Looks like some sort of structual faliure of the elevons and then the engine pod. Kev Edited By Kevin Fairgrieve on 22/10/2013 17:30:
Tony Bennett
looks like the engine pod ripped off and took the elevon with it. then the other side did the same. what a shame. so the film airplane was right when they rolled a concorde. Paul Marsh
Surprised how long the model flew after losing one elevon/engine pod, then the other and climbed for a bit before going into a slow dive. How long before CS is here, crying...
John Privett
What a shame. It looked good too up to that point.
Roy Mundy
Has the link been removed ? As I can't see the video ? CS will be gutted!
GrahamC
A great shame that... but both engines give way within seconds? Very odd that. I wonder if there is any more information. Did someone forget to fit some bolts or something? I'm assuming as it was flying at a show that this was not the first flight?
Devcon1
Just curious if the Czech have an "LMA" type body that oversees such large models. As GrahamC said it appears some common mechanical error occured as opposed to a unexpected structural failure or had the model been subjected to flight speeds it had not experienced before? Simon Chaddock
Looking closely I am not sure the jets themselves actually came free only the pod around it but it did look like it took the elevator as well. It also looked like quite a serious fire. In the wrong place that could be even more serious.
Craig Carr
Posted by Roy Mundy on 22/10/2013 19:27:28: Has the link been removed ? As I can't see the video ? CS will be gutted! Me neither . Think it's that problem with not embedding it in a certain way for apple os devices.... John privett figured out the fix in another thread..... Would love to see it if someone could post it properly... (we shouldn't have this faff on though).

MR P
Well Craig, I'm afraid Apple don't tell you that you can't see Flash content on their devices. Maybe you should by a P.C.
Chris Bott - Moderator
OK, well if this works for you folk, and doesn't cause a problem for anyone else. Which I think we proved elsewhere. Then we'll just have to get the message out - not to use the "old" embed code any more. I just wish the goalposts would stay still.

TheFlyingCrust
Views fine on my MacBook Air. Never had a problem with any embedded vids. I do use Firefox rather than Safari, though. Such a shame. As has been said it looked a nice model. Ian
Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
Slightly strange crash. One pod letting go could be back luck - but the other onefollowing it would suggest a design fault. I wonder had it flown before? There is also a bit of elevator waggling going on just before the first pod loss, perhaps its just a coincidence or maybe the elevator starting detacting before the pod? PatMc
The control surfaces were still attached when it crashed. And it had flown previously Edited By PatMc on 24/10/2013 17:50:
