Chris Walby
Advice from the collective please 38" electric model that needs twin elevator control rods so I thought I could use one of these, but this one is spoken for! 2mm rod Questions Is there a better way that's as quick and simple? What's the darn thing called? And apart from ebay where can I get some from? Thanks in advance

Don Fry
Common on ARTF models, with thread lock seems to work, no name. Once adjusted, glue it with epoxy if paranoid. A solution that works. Not broke, don't fix.
Martin Harris - Moderator
If the model is of a reasonable size, a second servo is worth considering.

Chris Walby
Cheers chaps, I'll either buy one off ebay or fit an elevator torque rod (I like these even less than the connector idea) after all its AUW is just over 1 Kg and 40% of that is the lipo! Brian Hammond
Hi Chris, what,s wrong with using 2 servos, they are so reasonable these days,Brian
Keith Lomax
The electrical connector block that comes in various sizes could fit the bill. They are plastic so if they flex too much may need to fill the gaps (or the heat proof variants are harder plastic - you find them inside trendy light fittings), but they have the advantage of two screws per rod, and you could bend the ends over once through and adjusted. Bob Cotsford
Bind and solder. It's quick, easy, light and reliable.
simon barr
I'm using one in one of my models, and its been fine. I do, however, file flats on the wire where the grub screws tighten down and use thread lock on the grub screws. I do prefer to fit dual servos whenever possible though. brokenenglish
To return to the OP. Go into eBay UK "Toys & Games", and search for "triple rod connector". You'll find loads of 'em. Ron Gray
This is how GP recommend dual elevator connectors for their Revolver. I was very dubious about this but having thrown it round the sky at warp factor 10 (it is powered by a West 52) there is no sign of them coming loose and is a very positive connection (thread lock a must!). Don Fry
Mind Ron, I would be tempted to clean the wire on assembly. And put a bit of flux on. Get it all adjusted, tightened up, then flow a film of solder onto the wires.
Paul Marsh
On the Yak, I've just done, both elevators went into one via that block. I used two servos for the elevator and didn't use it. Do you want it?
Ron Gray
@Don - good point, no harm in belt and braces and with something that cavorts around at 100+ mph methinks advisable!
Chris Walby
Thanks again chaps for you advice Paul Marsh, Yes, I'll PM you, Cheers
chris evans 8
i would think it's fine if you can thread nuts on the protruding ends, or bend the wires with a half 'z', but double servo might be better
